He gets a coffee and starts to play.
A Drumloop and some Synth´s, sitting on the next table, joinig in.
In the middle of this track the sax gets to loud and the guitar with all other instruments will simply blast away the sax, out of Gui`s´Cafe, perhaps out of the town.

Don´t make an guitar gets angry, espacilly in his own Cafe.

something OT (because i know neil will drop in as well ): got any suggestions for another tangerine dream album to listen too? i have rubycon at home (like it very much!!!), i have listened to a (live?) album (cover with an american flag) which i liked, and heard one of their more recent things (something with a bicycle (?)) which i didn't like at all.
btw: ever checked 'node'? you should listen to their 1995 album on the deviant label. great stuff.

Thanks borg, I can command you to the TD Album Dream Sequence, it is a double CD with all the best track up to 1985.
This was my first TD CD ,it can be found at virgins Records 012981 000226.(BarCode).

The booklet comes with a nice and informativ history about TD.

It's nice, short & sweet and holds the attention. A hint of Mark Knopfler perhaps in there?
I think that it is the sort of "snippet" or short expression of music that would sit nicely as part of a film score. Like it.

OT: Borg - Am I so predictable?
If you like Rubycon and this is my favourite era of TD, try Ricochet, Stratosfear and especially Phaedra for starters. Phaedra is renowned for the title track and also "Mysterious Semblance at the Strand of Nightmares". Both are classics to me.
Also try artists like Redshift, Radio Massacre International (although their intros are a bit long to me) and Phase 3 (Ian Boddy/Ron Boots).
Yes I have heard of and heard Node. They did an unplanned set at an EM festival in Derby some years ago - more modular synths than TD it seemed at the time. They're perhaps at the outer edge of my taste though, but that's another story.

Thank you all again, it´s a good feeling that I can make music that other people like, so everthing gets more sense, day by day.

Gary, it could be that you hear some distorted sound, this track is mastered really tough. On my monitor speakers it sounds okay, maybe on yours not. It´s always the same story, at your home it sounds great on other locations is can sounds less good.
What speakers you use?

You've painted another beautiful picture with this piece Chris. I'm quickly becoming a fan, and you've started to get me interested in TD too

BTW, what are you using to get those vox/choir sounds? They seem to sit particularly well in your mixes.

I´ve got many sample banks of sounds, I decide it on every each track what choir or other sounds I will use. In this case it´s a sample bank called Choir!

I don´t know the origin.

In the last weeks I mainly use the old Mellotron choirs wich comes from my new M-Tron VST-Instrument.
If you look for a brand new choir sound you should try this: Angelina

This instrument uses formant synthesis to generate rich, breathy pads sound. Angelina
is available both as a vst plugin or as a standalone synth.

it's me having the problems, not gary...

well, i just play everything through my stereo system (nad amp, scott speakers). i know it's not pro, but it works for me. i especially have this phenomena with the more ambient like stuff (yours, algorhytm's 'music concrete' piece, ...) not the electronic stuff.

You should try to drive your system with direct sound, no bass or treble add.

wow, this is LOUD! Anyway, fun tune. Sounds like Vangelis from Bladerunner. Love the misty atmosphere.

Great track. I like it, because it is a deep and full sound. swaying in the cafe - with a very emotional atmosphere.
but , on the other hand, ...the straight rhythm (also good for dancing, sic!!!) makes the track to one, which I really want to hear more often.

yep, there was this 'sound enhancer' somewhere hidden that was on. i'd never turned it on or off before. this did the trick.
