May be a Recording/Mixing Engineer can help... =)

What you are asking for its technically called "EQ" or "Ecualizer"...

I personally think that "punch" or wathever you want as final result, should be obtained choosing the correct intruments/sounds,at the first place...then in the recording, placing the mics/distance/room or third in the mix...

Compressing some sounds can help to get that "punch" but also can make the instrument sound with "no life"...

You can make some kind of "mastering" to the final mixdown but to make little changes and corrections, not radical ones...

In the mastering you can obtain the louder sound as possible, and may be some "punch" or anything...

Any hardware to "add punch" or "bright" is not friend of mine and could be dangerous for anyone...

Anyway you can use under your own risk any Eq, multiband compressor, aural exciter, etc etc...

or if you have a specific tune that has the quality you want to get rid of, maybe we can hear it and make more specific suggestions.

But careful compression on each of the tracks really does help to bring out clarity.

Thanks. I am getting the best quality sounds around from my CW cards but I was just looking at some hardware processors. Just curious anyway
