we have a premier that owns three big national tv channels, now controls the three public tv channels, all talk-show conductors and journalists that used to be critical about him are getting fired, he owns insurance company and wants to change welfare, he is inquired by justice for corruption and while economy is getting down,
the only activity of his majority in parliament theese weeks is to make a law to stop the trial before the sentence is pronounced, he says that all the people that criticyze him are dirty communists.....
the list is so long...how would you call this?
and the worst thing is that he's got the strongest majority in parliament of all times in italy, allied with the post(?)-fascist, the racist and the catholic-integralists.
and what makes me feel like what i think of him (sh..), he gives to all foreign governors he meets horrible watches with diamonds as present...and he allways smiles...bleah!
yesterday, while the parliament was approving a law that allows him to suspend the trial in wich is involved, i partecipated to a manifestation against that fact of about 800.000-1.000.000 people in rome, with pertecipation of nobel-prizes (rita levi-montalcini, dario fo), famous artists, messages from claudio abbado (berliner philarmoniker director), associations like "emergency"...etc. and guess what...NO COVERAGE of the event by no-one of the public tv channels!
how do you call this?

I watched a documentary about it, quite scary stuff, I can't believe how much power he's acquired and how reckless many people have been in letting him get there

I just can't believe that he was allowed to get in. All you hear is true, it is really a horrific, dangerous situation which defies democracy and common sense !

I send my loving support to every straight thinking person in Italy, to correct this dangerous situation... God bless Italy!

Bad man

Do I remember it right, that you have many elections in Italy - much coruption? Well, let us just hope, that the mob wants something different than Mr Beerlostcowny, so there sill be a change, that he does not succed with going free... (sorry, I am just talking out of, what my (simple) impression of Italian society is like - I have Italian friends and do not considder the common Italian for being a mob member).

thank you very much for listening,
my sensation is that people here is starting to understand, i hope that also out of italy a public opinion will push their governants not to support our actual governors in anyway, and this for the good of everybody in europe.
thanks again.

Too much power to too few people, out of wich too many likes to benefit on it was a mayor reason for me to vote against the union.

Look what happens to big countries: Helmut Cold, Mr. Bearlostconsious, ... - to much temptation - to many reasons to become politician.

Alfonso, I´m writing from Argentina, so I really know what you mean...

I´m so sorry because I know this only from you, and the news channels hadn´t told us anything about what is happening in italy...

That happens everytime over the world, but its only known by the people who lives it face-to-face...

Let me tell you that it is a very special moment around the world... and the III war is begining...

You think I´m crazy?
of course... if the III War were begining all the media would say that...
would them... or may be not?

I read 'Midnight in Sicily' and you have my sympathy . One of the quotes in the book that comes to mind is the locals in Sicily telling their children to stay away from the priests .
God Bless

alfonso, i heared he was making this law, that he was tired of the allegations and will sue everyone who, even in private, talks bad of him. Did that law pass, last summer?

I thought he won the trial?

Some trials were won, but some others ended with prescription, that means that the time in wich it is possible to condemn is off, and it depends on the nature of the crime. Prescription usually is associated with being guilty, because if the crime doesn't exist it can't go in prescription, and there is an interest to sentence innocence.

A law that he's making is to lower dramatically these prescription terms, because of well documented and proven facts still under trial at the moment.

I've never been happy with politics in our country, except for the Prodi government, that has been quite decent for us, but this one here is the worst government supported by the worst parliamentar coalition of all times, made of fascists, integralist catholics, xenophobics and the worst part of the hyper corrupted and now closed old socialist party, that has been more of a rightwing party in the last 25 years.

I truely hope we kick them in the ass with 2006 elections.

Reminds me of a cartoon that got the cartoonist sacked from a newpaper here in Australia. He pictured the Prime Minister saying

"Doctor, I try and try but I still can't get an election".

If the people want him, he'll stay in. When they're sick of him, they'll vote him out. The other thing is, that without honest, open cticism, he and the system will self destruct. Play your music and wait. He'll fall over.
