hello i know i should probably get the asus cusl2 mobo for my pulsar, but my question is what is the fastest processor i can use with it, its spec says only up to 933 mhz.....

because the intel CPUs have hardwired multipliers, you can use every cpu that fits into the socket and runs with the given core voltage...
so if intel doesn´t change the socket (like with p4) and if the cusl is flexible enough (voltage), you can use every new >gigahertz-p3 coming forth...

The fastest P3 you can get is still the 1.0GHz variety. They did release a 1.13mhz P3, but recalled it, and have moved to P4. Once the P4 settles down a bit on a socket formfactor, then it'll be the next step...
Until then, CUSL2 is king, and DDR/Athlons are another (relatively untested) choice.

yes, amd760 with ddr-ram might be also a good choice, but intel is still far better (in case of pci-performance)
in the summer msi, abit and asus will release boards with nvidia´s crush12 chipset, i´m very looking forward to this.
it comes with an improved bus architecture, and with a built-in geforceMX.
crush18, coming end of this year, will contain a geforce3 onboard...

Damn at current prices, a mobo with geforce3 would be over $400! Yikes!
Someone from the Pulsar-Scope list has said in their preliminary tests, the ASUS A7M266 (AMD 761 chipset) is working okay with Dual Scopes. They didn't get a Timeworks 4080L reverb count yet, which is a good way to "benchmark" a board. I can get 6 of these on the CUSL2, with PCI overflow on the 7th verb. This remains to be beaten by any other chipset. Obviously you probably wouldn't need 6 different reverbs in a track, but this is the easiest way to measure how much Sampling, Delays, and Reverb you can get out of your system.
(My test system: 1Ghz CUSL2 w/ PCI latency @ 255, Pulsar1+LunaII = 6 Timeworks, PCI overflow on 7th)
Can someone who has an AMD760/761 chipset-based system post how many Timeworks 4080L reverbs they can get so we can get an idea of it's PCI performance?
Thanks!

what do you think is most important to this pci-issue?
memory bandwidth/performance and/or the way the pci-bus is connected?
