Hi!
I updated to Pulsar ver. 2.04a but then I couldn't play back the audiofiles in Logic 4.7 anymore. (I use ASIO).
So I reinstalled ver. 2.01 and erything was fine again!..........?
Any ideas / experience how to use Pulsar 2.04a with Logic 4.7 nevertheless?

Not really directly related but can anyone help?

I can run cubase 5.0 fine with Pulsar with multiple audio tracks but not Logic 4.7. I can record one audio track (only by using highest ULLI settings) which sounds fine. Any extra audio tracks stutter pop and click and any more on top of that cause an ASIO overload.

I am really keen to isolate the cause of this as I would prefer to use Logic.

Has anyone else experienced this using Logic and could it be down to:

a) Not enough RAM, (I think I am on the edge of using all resources, I have 256 but have ordered 128 more)

b) Something else?

Does anyone know the details how these two programmes compare and why cubase doesn't seem to get get stretched like logic. Is logic using more resources.

Also is the amount or RAM linked to what ULLI settings I can achieve?

Thanks

ULLI seems more dependant on CPU than RAM. But 256megs of quality PC133 CAS2 ram will only set you back $100 or so right now, so put in as much ram as you can afford. Now is a great time to buy as prices are as low as they will probably get.

Press "Winkey+Pause" and check your harddiscs to make sure the "DMA" box is checked. If it isn't there at all, then you need to uninstall the Intel DMA drivers, they have been reported to hurt disc performance. Logic does run as well as Cubase or better once you get it working and I definitely prefer it.

Thanks

I do not seem to have a DMA box to check or uncheck. This may be the root of the problem as I have followed all other optimisation tips. I hope it is!

How do I uninstall the DMA drivers then? It's probably simple, I just don't want to press the wrong buttons and wreck my PC!

Cheers

hi,
no problems after all.
my old - normally doing soundsynthesis-pc - is still working fine with both: vst5.0 and logic platinum4.7

pII 350, 128mb, asus p2b, pulsar I + pulsar srb I

now i´m working with the "little" at home and he´s working fine...

so tell us more about the real problem!
