Hi there,

recently, after a terrible system failure, i replaced my old P3 system with a new P4 PC.

now i'm experiecing a strange problem with my pulsar1 card running SFP 3.1a (btw the same applies to sfp3.1).

after a while the SFP GUI hangs and i'm forced to close the app via "end process" task manager button (note that i can still hear asio / wave audio while the app GUI is blocked). the GUI simply doesn't respind anymore to mouse clicks or scroll (and the little sfp tray icon doesn't show context icon anymore). While i'm using XTC mode with CubaseSX there're no problems since the sfp GUI is shut down completely. I tried to reinstall the app completely a couple of times in two different OS parttions but the same shit happened.

I tried to disabled "bus mastering" for the g550 video card but it didn't help.

just for the record i have my pulsar sharing IRQ 11 with the video card and i've tried to reassign pulsar card to a different IRQ in BIOS without success. note that i installed windows 2000 in "standard mode".

maybe i have to move Pulsar in a different PCI slot?

any idea?
thanks in advance.

Try moving Pulsar to another slot. The 2nd PCI slot might give you best chances. If it comes back on IRQ11, change slot again till you have an IRQ for your Pulsar alone.

If that doesn't work, try disabling the SCSI card ie. in Windoze Device Manager. You won't need to physically remove it.

hi again,

i solved the IRQ sharing, i'm actually testing SFP 3.1a at the moment to understand if is somewhat related to GUI hangs mentioned in my prev. post.

initially i tried to move Pulsar to a different slot with no success. then i assigned IRQ #7 (that was previously unused by win2000) to an ISA/EISA device via BIOS (amibios screen named "assign IRQ to PCI or ISA"). I also assigned IRQ #7 to PCI slot #3 (pulsar) via aibios screen "PCI/PNP configurations". that did the job. now win2000 uses IRQ #7 only for pulsar.

btw thx for help
