This is a puzzling one, and I wanted to describe it in case anyone has experienced it:
Just setting up a new HDD with WinXP (NTFS format), latest SFP, and Cubase SX. Using the 32 bit ASIO2 Source/Dest and trying to play back a project in Cubase, my Cubase master fader pegs solid, but the sound is just fine. Also, just enabling a master effect (without playback) causes the master fader to peg solid.
Both 16 and 24 bit ASIO2 Source/Dest work just fine, and it seems to only be the 32 bit that's causing some kind of strangeness.
Could there be some configuration issue I'm missing in either SFP, Cubase, or WinXP? Everything is a fresh install, and I'm opening up a project meant for 32 bit/44.1kHz. Again, the sound is just fine, but the faders are acting like there's some kind of feedback going on. But my only routing in SFP is ASIO2 modules, mixer, analog I/O.
I'm hopefully doing something lame. Any ideas? Thanks.
