I wanted to annouce that XP is NOT GOOD using cubase VST 5.x
Now i'm back on Win98 se, and everything, sts, cubase, etc, is so groovy, so in rythm, there's no crrrr or clclclclc, or any strange thing, it DOES sounds like MUSIC !!!!! yes, i can finish my tracks, it's fantastic, it's wondeful.
I hope people on XP with SX are doing ok.
bye
I edited this post so it's more polite

i think it's useful to know that XP can work with tweaking as you said, and before an upgrade, that win98se is still better for the one who doesn't like to tweak too much.
i talk to vst 5 users too.
I think that's info i'd like to have found.
no offence to you. and it's great to able to express it too, and i hope it'll help user like me who dislike too much tweaking
(not always required, i used no tweak on 98se and it just works fine as it should,
i just changed the virtual memory settings and that's it). it grooves, it's important.

Sorry magico but that's a lousy post. You give no indication of your system spec, whether you're using VST 5.0 or 5.1 (big difference) and what problems you encountered so your 'announcement' is less than useless.
If you search the forums at cubase.net you'll find plenty of people working better than ever on XP. And they'll be happy to help you out if you ask positively. The fact that XP is very tweakable is one of it's many advantages. If you don't want to set your system up correctly that's your loss.
