what does keyboard tracking do? I just bought the Rotor 48, and it has this as an option. This is inevitably a newbie Q, but I want to know.

perhaps i need to clarify my question. i may have made it seem that i was concerned with this feature only on the Rotor48. i am concerned with the feature in general, not specifically to the rotor, i just used it as an example. also, the new neutron uses it, as do many 'sophisticated' synths. So what the hell is keyboard tracking? does it mean that the parameter which it tracks changes along with the note played? If so _how_ does it change it? Increased frequency of LFO? greater filter modulation? what?
help me pretty please, i'll be a happy human

in reference to the miniscope:
the envelope rates change to varying degrees in response to keyboard position. The basic idea is to be able to mimic acoustic instruments such as the piano, in which higher notes decay faster, but to set key tracking to negative values you can produce the opposite effect. (longer decay)
This can apply to whatever module you are tracking. Im not sure what else uses key follow or key track. But i think they are very similar.
