How big a strain is one Pulsar 1 and one Elektra card to the PCI bus? I'm currently using Matrox G400 DH as my display adapter but because of the W2000 DH limitations I'm concidering buying a PCI card to be my first adapter and using G400 as second and third.

Will my P3 on a BX motherboard be able to deal with Pulsar, Elektra and PCI display adapter with atleast 1600*1200*16,7 million mode simultaneously?

a pci-vga as first card? together with pulsar? on a chipset like bx?
...i don´t think so. i guess it will work, but... if a via-chipset is bad for pci performance, that construction will be much worse...

but i´m just guessing. why don´t you get a cheap pci card and try it? i don´t think that more than 8 mb grafic memory is needed...

Which is the best chipset for Pulsar? I've understood that the BX should atleast be one of the best. How about the Intel 815 or 820 chipsets?

did you try it now, janila? what did happen?

i personally would love to know, which is the cheapest solution to get more than two screens via AGP? aren´t any agp-cards out there with three or four outputs?

really don´t want to stress the pci-bus with grafx-data, i´d rather see pulsar/scope migrate to pci-x or to pci64, then it would be no issue to fill the whole pci-bus with the vga-cards for the displays no.3 - no.7  and a lan-adapter...

I have tried it with a S3 Virge with 800*600 resolution and 16.7 million colors. I have Pulsar 1 and an Elektra. It seems to work fine. I got few crashes but It seemed more like a Windows error than anything to do with PCI.

There is the new Matrox G200 MMS PCI card. One card can run four screens simultaneously and up to four cards can be used. If the PCI system is capable of sixteen screens simultaneously it doesn't seem impossible to run Creamware cards with S/TDMs and a few PCI screens at the same time. The G200 MMS is expensive but I would be happy if I could use for example a PCI Voodoo and AGP G400 to get three screens. I'm not completely sure about the PCI and AGP problems. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
