Just loaded Logic 47 and all the Pulsar synths are crackling. Using ASIO2 drivers with default latency settings in Pulsar. Anyone having the same problems. The EDS drum synth wont even play a kick (no bass only highs).

I had similiar Probs using 4.6 - Setting the ULLI Settings to the maximun latency solved a bit. Sometimes you´ve to use less audio tracks. CW recommended the usage of the easi drivers in 4.7 again. In 4.22 everythig worked fine using them so I dunno if it´ll do so in 4.7 .

I'm only using midi and 2 audio tracks. Latency is also set to max with ULLI. Any ideas?

Your ULLI settings are too low. There are almost no computers (PC) which can run below 7ms without crackling at 44.1khz. It takes an incredible amount of resources, and Windows was never really designed with this in mind. You can get lower settings with higher sample rates (48, 96khz, etc), but your DSP power is also proportionally depleted at those higher rates, as is your hard disk space
Raise your ULLI settings until the crackles go away. BTW, this is explained pretty well in the manual

thanks for the HELP but my ULLI settings are not too low - they cant go any higher (they are at max 15ms or whatever the setting is) I was running Logic 4.6.1 with no problems on ASIO2 and when I ghosted this setup (in order to test Logic 4.7 with Pulsar) to another hard drive and put Logic 4.7 instead of 4.6.1, I got crackles. All system preference settings are correct as in tips section. Nothing has changed in the settings from my other drive stup except Logic 4.6.1 to 4.7. As noted, the EDS drum synth wont even play the kick. You get this type of weird digital snarey type sound. No bass at all. When I boot back into the old Logic 4.6.1 drive there are no problems at all. Sorry to be a pain, but there must be someone with the same problem.
THANKS

Are you guys using Pulsar v2.04a software?
this may be my problem as i'm still using v2.01. I heard there is major metering problems in v2.04. Anyone found problems with v2.04a. Should I upgrade from 2.01?
THANKS for the help.

It could be that on your new hard disk, "DMA" is not turned on. You can check this by pressing "Winkey + Pause" or going to the System icon in the Control Panel. Then pull up the hard disk and make sure the DMA box is checked.
It could also be a bad digital cable or connection (clean both ends, even small dust can get in the way of the light), master/slave issues, make sure the sample rates are set correctly.
Finally, I use ASIO2 with Logic. EASI stopped working at one point (when Emagic changed their EASI implementation), and I'm not sure if it's working again yet. Use ASIO2 if you're having any problems.

Oh yeah, I'm using 2.04a as well, and don't have the clicks. 2.01 seems like it's slightly more stable (if you leave your computer on for a few days with Logic open, you'll see what I mean), but overall I don't have many issues with 2.04a.

I had similar Probs while doing some Experiments in my Bios.
1. read tips+tricks forum\"improving system..." by John Cooper.(remember your old params!)
2. If you have logic 4.70, download 4.71(you will find it under 4.70 -logic,eh)from Emagic.hope this can help...

Which Pulsar hardware port are you using to monitor the Pulsar synths?
It sounds like you could have a Master/Slave digital sync problem. What's the rest of your system look like?

Did reinstalling Logic fix it for you?

Hi there!
I also work with Logic 4.7 (PC) and Pulsar II.
I updated from Pulsar 2.01 to 2.04a but then Logic couldn't play back the audio files anymore. (I use ASIO).
Somehow the new driver (ver. 1.42) from Pulsar 2.04a didn't match with Logic 4.7. So I had to reinstall 2.01, replace the new driver and then it worked fine again!!...?
Any ideas /experiences out there how to use 204a together with Logic 4.7 nevertheless?
