in win98 i was use 24bit recording in wavelab.
now in xp if i set 24bit recordings i have only overloud distortions.
if i set "24bit alt" than is ok. what's the diference?! :???:
also wavelab can do playback only if i set preferred playback resolution to 16bit - with 24bit or 24bit alt won't play.
is it normal for windows media drivers!?

this is not big problem for me, but i want to know what's happends here

Hi sandrob,
I can't give you any answers here, but I have the exact same problem. Also when I load a 24bit wave destination into a project so I can record 24bit into Wavelab 4, all I get is white noise (on the recording, I can just hear the signal in the back ground under a 0db white noise level).
I could do this fine with Pulsar 3.01 and winxp and previously with win98.
I be watching hoping someone can help us out on this one.

same here - with win98/3.01 i didn't had this problems!
now (xp/sfp) i set recording in wavelab to "24bit alt" and works ok, but wavelab won't play on 24bit?
so, i don't know - maybe it's normal, 'cos i never used 24bit preferred playback before.
maybe i didn't set everything correct!?

anybody use 24bit recording/playback in wavelab (or some other wave editor) sucessfuly?!

btw: i use 3.0 version because i don't like 4.0 and i had some problems when i use 4.0 with cubase.
