Unfortunately I did not write this tune. (I think it is a killer pop tune) But this is my mix of it.

The track is called 'Delorean' and is going to be released sometime in the fall.

Originally recorded using various hardware synths, but I re-sculpted the mix using the following CW devices:

Saturn (for the 'drop' bass)
Miniscope (for the bass)
STS 3000 for the Piano and wide strings

I also added a drum loop from Reason, and the background "la dee dah" vocals are mine.

Mixed in Pro Tools.

Hope you enjoy

well, I don't really like the track, a I am not a pop fan, but I figure that you want comments on the mix, cuz that is what you did. I think it is pretty solid, except the vocals are too bright. They are almost harsh on some notes and kinda hurt my ears. too much exciter or eq? i dunno. just a thought. good work though

I agree completely....

The vocals and some of the instruments were actually an mp3 (!) file that was posted on the web..... I had to convert it to aiff, then convert it to 24 bits, and then import it into Pro Tools, find the proper tempo, etc. etc.

Vocals are very harsh and upper-midrangey.

Unfortunately I can't re-EQ them because I don't have the stems ......yet. (am working on getting them).

Thanks for listening.

The upper high frequencies of the main Pad are colliding directly with the voice, and the voice, as said by Algo, it’s a bit harsh…

I think the background sounds great, but the upper frequencies in general, have to be remade somehow. The voice has a nice character and could be, I think, very, very warm, but the nature is almost completely lost here.

In a song like this one, the voice is “everything” and if it sounds skeletal, the whole song it’s ineffective.

I would like to encourage you to repeat it! I would not tell you a lie about what I think, you know what I mean? Hope you understand me. I’m just being honest about my point of view, particularly if you are planning to publish it. My respects
