I forgot to metion the other day (by the way thankx for the replies) that I have an all scsi system (including scsi h drives)..this meand i cannot disable DMA...at any rate I have figured out that the crackling is realted to h disk activity...i.e. every time the h drive light blinks...there is a crackle in the sound. Mind you, clackles only occur with sample players...I also have to note I have only explorer and systray running in the background (bare minimum)...at this point I am making a requsition to pulsar tech support to fix my problem already...I'll tell you all how it goes. of course any comments and suggestions are welcome...thanx!

Hi Fevertrax - I don't know if it's been suggested, but try lowering the SCSI transfer rate (in your scsi bios - device config)to 10 mb/sec. Might help. Also, make sure your scsi card and Pulsar aren't sharing an irq.
Sorry if this has already been covered - I'm too lazy to check the thread.
