I am using a Pulsar2 card with Cubase5 and all is well. I have recently installed an ADAT Sync card as per the instructions. My ADAT XT20 is connected with optical cables to ADAT B on the Pulsar2 card, and the 9 pin Sync cable is connected to "Sync In" on the ADAT, and "Sync Out" on the card. The ADAT A connector on the card is connected optically to an 03D desk. Everything is clocked at 44.1Hz with the Pulsar as master.
In the project window I have connected the MTCToClk->Syncplate destination. I have then tried connecting PulsarMidiOut->MTCToClk, and also SequncerMidiSource->MTCToClk. I have also tried setting Cubase to output MTC to Pulsar in both Master and Sync modes, but I cannot get the ADAT to respond to the external sync. Where am I going wrong?. Please help.

I have the same problem and there is nothing you can do at the moment. The problem is that Pulsar Version 2.04 has a modul that is called syncplate dest but there are no modules or devices that work with it at the momentas somebody at Creamware told me a few weeks ago. The only chance to sync your ADAT to Cubase is set the ADAT as Master for ADAT sync (ADAT sync out at the ADAT, ADAT sync in at the pulsar syncplate). If you use the ASIO 2 driver you can connect the clk out from the syncplat source to the ASIO 2 clk in. In Cubase set synchronisation to ASIO 2.
When you hit play on the ADAT Cubase should follow sample accurate.

Hope this helps

You need to own the Creamware Syncplate hardware to use the Syncplate device in Pulsar (so yes, that device does have a purpose).

I own the Creamware Syncplate Hardware and Sync plate source works (I'm syncing Cubase to my ADAT with it) but Sync plate dest does not work with any device for pulsar at the moment. So the only way to sync an ADAT is to set the ADAT as master. With the scope software you can use sync plate dest with VDAT but VDAT is not available for pulsar. Anyway somebody at Creamware told me that they will make a small version of VDAT in the next big revision of pulsar that owners of the sync plate hardware can use the syncplate dest module (he did not mention when this would be).

Right, thanks for clarifying further. Have you tried syncing just through the litepipe? This is how I'm doing it... but I don't have an ADAT machine, I do harddisc recording in my sequencer.

Well I think through lightpipe you can only sync the sample clock but you can not send something like midi machine control commands or Midi Time Code. So how do you start your sequencer and your ADAT at the same time?
