Pulsarians.
I have a gorgeous soundfont of a Steinway piano that I really love, it's a soundfont posted by a Swedish guy (about 30Mb file). I've been experiencing some problems when I try to use it on my STS3000, first if I load the soundfont directly on the sts3000 I can't play more than 3 voices at a time and sometimes I only can play 2 voices. So I've got the Awave studio and tryied to save it to the Akai s1000/s3000 program format, but then when I load the akai program it does not play the whole velocity range of the program, it means it sounds only when I play softly the keys on my keyboard.
What is going on here??..
Thanks in advance for all your help.

Shit. what can you do. Btw I asked the guy Marcus, from Awave, if he would do a STS transformation for us. He said: 'Shure. If I can get information about the STS-format.'
To be honest, I didn't ask anybody from CWD.
So, for now, the only thing I can offer to help you, is this: I got this very nice 256MB-Piano from the official AKAI-japan-page; I was successfull convewerting it into usefull SF2 and STS-Format.
Wanna have it?

Hey, one chance for your 30MB-piano maybe: S1000 is the format that the STS normally reads well. You can try toss this piano over to me if u want, and I try converting it. (Latest Version of Awave is 8.1. It was the first programm I needed when I got the STS...) It worked for me with Awave and converting it.

thank you Cook.
I tried also with the Awave 8.x and had bad results, I mean the sound is great but the velocity does not seem to work., I don't know if the Awave I have is an evaluation, therefore the conversion is not complete. I can put the sound font on the net for you to convert it...Just let me know where.
thanks

As you say, the problem is the file size, we'll net to get a FTP site. I have a good connection here 24Hrs/ADSL connection.

.
But I guess it all depends on luck so far.
BTW, I'm glad you like the Ovation
Best Regards

Hey Guys,
I've posted a couple of other posts on the STS pages about conversion. I've been using chicken systems Translator and I've only been able to miss one file. I sent it to them and they emailed it back to me fixed. That's awesome support and they can really make stuff like this happen. Hey how could I get my hands on that piano file?
Check out this web site:

I hope that this helps. It's helped my whole library.

Hi all! I Hope this helps, I found it on CreamWare NewsLetter:
" .. Reduce the "Loudness" of a program (under Program -> Loudness -> Basic Level) if the program does not respond to changes in velocity as you would expect. Too high values prevent some of the 128 velocity levels from being used. "
Cheers
