Try plying back the notes at half of their velocity, or try getting the sound from different outputs. You might clip if the individual outputs are too high to be mixed...?

if you have crackles on note off that's bug in xp and cw said that knows for problem and they works on it.
i had same problem with xp and i solve this with win98se
sts working with win98, but don't working fine because worst sampler like sts can't works fine anyway!

The 'note off crackle' should also occur when you're playing only one sample, right Sandro?

Did you try lowering velocity and volumes? Might be easier than a OS change

And I would personally not change OS now if you can wait, just wait for the 3.1...

yes, atomic!
i find many suggestions from you and others on this forum and i think that i'm tried everything but without success. then i write to cw and they told me "it's bug"!
in win98 i don't have crackles but sts3000 never works smooth for me.
many times they won't to read program change or pan or volumen control when i start cubase. then read after #2 or #3 start.
btw: why cw can't make normal sample player (don't have to be sampler) with cca 10 equal stereo outs and friendly interface (easy routhing)?!

i bought sts3000 for 2 major reasons:
1. have program pool
2. use dsp... but use too much dsp

have you tried SDS sampler?

sorry, it's got no pool, but it's light on DSP and has many outputs.
