I have lost all audio sound between cubase and pulsar but cubase works ok in stand alone
mode
Is it a cubase or pulsar problem and how do I get cubase and pulsar to get working together again? This beta version of cubase seems to have various bugs. Will I have to uninstall
all versions of cubase and reinstall. And then do the same with pulsar or is their an easier or more obvious solution that I am missing.
cheers Hawkeye

i'm not sure that i understand what's problem but i think that you must check:
cubase/options/play in background

i don't know if that 'll work for u but try to run the asio multimedia setup (which doesn't run actually) and then run cubase
Also check the load previous song on startup
it must be unchecked to avoid cubase crash on startup when u have an asio error

And I once had (I think) the same problem as from this topic: Some crash, and even after reboot Cubase won't load Pulsar's ASIO drivers no more. I reset Cubase's 'Asio Scope' driver to 'Asio MM' by opening Cubase w/o Pulsar (make sure XTC is disabled: cset.ini XTC set to 0, not 1)
Then, next time, I opened Pulsar first, cubase loaded Asio MM drivers, changed them to Asio Scope, and it worked again. Must have been something wrong in some ASIO file.

Good luck.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. Tried changing the drivers to multi media with just cubase open and got error message
FE8-D-0013 sorry communication with audio card
has been lost select reset devices in option menu or try restarting. Which doesn´t do anything at least as far as audio is concerned. Then after opening pulsar first
and then cubase and changing back to scope drivers as suggested but still no audio
Atomic not sure how to disable XTC can you explain it step by step to see if that makes any difference. Any other suggestions welcome. cheers fellow pulsarians

Sometimes the "enable audio" setting in cubase may appear as "disable audio" check it

Hi hawkeyebigsteve :grin:

Look for ..Pulsar3Appbincset.ini
If XTC was enabled, opening Cubase will cause it to launch. You must avoid this, for one time only, to reset ASIO or something. It's PFM to me but it did the job. You could also disable Pulsar in device manager for 5 minutes, just to reset Asio when you open cubase w/o Pulsar.

To disable XTC mode outside of Pulsar OS, in cset.ini make sure it says following:

[asio]
XTCMode=0

But if Pulsar OS still opens fine, just do
->view
->Settings
->Global
->Uncheck XTC mode

still no joy I´m beginning to think this beta version of cubase is causing the problem. I certainly would not recomend any pulsar user testing it unless they really know what their doing.
Atomic I followed your suggestion to the letter but no luck. With just cubase loaded in ASIO multimedia
I have audio and then loading pulsar followed by cubase I still have audio but when I change to scope nothing I have tried changing from 25ms at 44.1 khz to 13ms but this has no effect either.The enable audio is on. In the panels vst mixer at the top white box I have no..ut where normally have out1 LPt or something like that but I can´t or don´t know to get back my original settings
I don´t know if that is a clue for you guys I hope so.So I can solve this bug
thanks again

Hi Hawkeye... Just thought I'd let you know (before you do any uninstalling), I've been using Cubase VST/32 5.1R2PB2 for months now with Pulsar 301, a very stable combination. Maybe provide some more details about your system and the Pulsar project that isn't working with Cubase.

Running the same setup here, (XP/Pulsar3.01/Cubase 5.1PB2) occasionally a reboot or weird error, but runs smooth enough to do what I want and make it a fun! thing. Steinberg seem to make solid PB's. Remember the one (was it 5.0PB7?) that improved XTC mode. That was a PB almost especially for CW users :lol:

Well I´m glad somebody has no problems with this combination it would be cool if it was something else I say hastily that was more easily solvable. Because since I installed this beta version I started to have problems
crashes,pages going blank rogue switchings.
first my system.
pentium 3 800mhz quantum fireball 60gb hard drive
asus tusl2-uc mother board 256mb ram
what would be helpful to know about my pulsar project to help solve this problem?
Before the audio drop out everything was working fine.
Atomic yeah I thought the same at first but now I´m not so sure.Where do I go from here

Did you try to uninstall the PB? Get back to previous settings? Never did it, but there's a BAckup folder in the Cubase folder, I guess you could restore to old settings by running Cubase's setup from 'Add/Remove software'...

This installing/uninstalling is next step, after the 'programs settings list'. I think you're experienced enough to go thru these settings, and they won't solve your problem.

Do you have other programs using ASIO? Do they run? ASIO is a bit of a mistery to me, I would not know if it's 'one Asio for all progs' or something. You could try it.

Good luck :wink:

back up repair removing last instalation in cubase get to "Enter pathname of the insstalation file with the following attributes %s. Then below Source patchname,
what do I do here? pressing accept does nothing and cancel aborts the process.

Oh that's more difficult :???: Did you try pointing at your original CD / upgrade files? I have no idea.

You might want to check all the settings in your Cubase song, make sure everything is correct, like inputs enabled, master busses enabled, track and mixer routings, etc. Sometimes these get lost after running an upgrade. If your def.all is working with the Pulsar background.pro, as you say, then an uninstall may not be necessary.
I don't trust the Cubase "rollback" option.

HI Hawkeyebigsteve,

I think your audio card is not well connected in the Pci slot or maybe you have to clean the card from particles.

I don't have other ideas

Good look :wink:
