I can not even try the mod2 demo.
First off, it tells me a wrong path to the demorequest.oxe
I solve that.
I get a German error message, when trying to download.
I go to my downloads page.
I try the link.
German error message again.
I DO NOT KNOW FTP
I try opeing the ms-dos prompt and do the walk thru.
Guess what... it does not work.

My mod2 is allready in my installation.
But it asks for an activation key.
Hey I do not have that.
I only have a request string.

Why is everything Creamware minded on PC PROs? Yes, version 3 is very good and nice, but apart from that everything is dificult.

I need help...

How do I get to try the mod2 before buying.
My girlfriend is here.
We haven't seen eachother for allmost a month.
Just today - this very evening - I remember, I can try the demo.
Now I have thrashed 2 full hours (again) with Creamware userUNfriendlyness.
And in the meantime, life passes by, and I miss all the fun.

I want to play music.
I do not want to learn to program an OS from scratch only because CW guys are nerds, who have forgotten, that their everyday tools are very advanced to normal PC-users.

Help me, I am sad (again) over Creamware.

Please, how do I get to try the MOD2?

My struggle with activation means that I am reduced to using a sb live, with APS live drivers.

I wish I could tell you about mod2 but I have been locked out of my setup since I bought the propack.
The propack is nice to have for the sake of completeness, from the experience I had half an hour of usage.
Your decision on mod2 comes down to wether you want to use other users' patches or not.
As mod1 patches are becoming harder and harder to get hold of.

I think if you really complain at creamware about the whole situation, hopefully they will be symphathetic and willing to sell you the propack after today.
If they don't I think other pulsarians would have a few things to say.

hi Immanuel,

you don't struggle with everything from CW, just with the protection of the software - that's always cumbersome in one or the other way, but it could be even worse...
To check out Mod 2 in a 1 hour demo time you must be a real wiz, so better spent the time with your girlfriend
The sound isn't that different from the other Pulsar devices as many parts of Mod 2 are used in various stand alone synths or effect units. The modular gives you the freedom to arrange sound processing just as you like or build that mega-strange effect unit.
If you're only after presets it's not worth the effort.

CW can certainly be a struggle: installation, activation, copy protection, optimisation. And in a few areas they are definitely behind their competitors.

But the sound and flexability of the system are impossible to find anywhwere else unless you want to pay MANY times more.

I still think it's hard top tell where this platform is headed. Lots of synths, good mixing, pretty good effects etc, but big gaps in areas which cheapy packages seem to find easy....

Creamware's policy is somewhat twisted. They make great innovations on a platform that hasn't got decent drivers for any operating systems. This wouldn't be so sad if they weren't responsible also for the hardware part of the equation. I have used Pulsar, Pulsar2 and Elektra starting from Pulsar 1.2something on W98, then on ME and W2k and now on XP. Creamware is always several months late compared to their competitors. XP is the first Windows ever to be really audio compatible, Pulsar seems to be the last hardware to be XP compatible. Just when I thought that Microsoft was the bad guys keeping me from working and making me fight with bugs.

after 15 days trying to use xp i'm again on win98. i do every single otimatisation tip and cubase and natives works great. stability and lower latency (3ms without problem) than ever before - smooth!!
but, i had some verry little and short distortions when i play sts3000 - on note off.
can't use giga! can't use cd roms for browseing akai samples in pulsars sample browser.... it was impossible to work.
while my friends with another cards use xp and giga without problem.
i'm not sure that will be able to use giga with new pulsar's software. i even don't expect that cw will fix some old bugs!
i expect just new bugs!
so, cw can be real nightmare for people who works with costumers!
