I have just done a clean install of pulsar on a different partition (w98). However now it is asking me for an activation key for pulsar software on startup, on all my setups (winxp)

It would all be very well if had this key, but I had to send the request string to creamware, however this thing has happened before, but a restart usually cured it. I asked creamware for the activaton key response before on two or three different occasions, when it would happen after a pci overflow, so at least then I could save my project.
I had no response from these. although this problem occured yesterday, and I have sent the key request to creamware in germany yesterday. This isn't a lot of time to respond I know, but how long should I expect to wait? Bearing in mind they have not reponded on requests in the past.

As it is very frustating to have my soundcard disabled just because creamware can not get copy protection right.

Can I send the key to creamware america to get a better response?

i only mailed them two or three times (germany), always got a (standard (automated?)) reply the day after saying they were going to look into it as soon as possible. some days later, two or three at the most, i had my answers in the mail.
remember v3.1 is about to be launched, take this in consideration as well.

Yeah ok, two days I can cope with. But I dread to think the consequences if a similar problem happend when I had a deadline to meet. Thanks
My PC is in standard pc mode. Always has been, always will be. Was never convinced about acpi before I moved to creamware.
But thanks for quick replies

Hi Sandrob,
I just got my new XP machine today. I'm using XP Home but didn't see any "standard PC" setting. I'm just about to open it up and install the card....

What you are experiencing in WinXP is called "ACPI Mode." There is details about this all over the forum, check out the Tips & Tricks section and look for Optimize your Win2k/XP. I believe this information was also either in the manual for V3 or the readme for V3.

If it's not that Win2k/XP - then usually you can just enter your Pulsar key (or click "cancel") and it shouldn't ask again. Let me know if you see this on nonWin2k/Xp installs, because I never have.
