'is this d'n'b?' i was thinking to myself, it sounded more like a smart electro/idm track to me, which i like very much, don't let this be misunderstood
some might disagree, but i like the sound. hard to describe: 'lo fi without being lo fi'?
a friend took home my autechre collection once. when he gave back the cd's, he said he liked 'the lo fi sound of their more recent stuff'!!!

i liked it too, but must agree w/Andy - not quite feeling the drum 'n bass vibe on it. I like the gated (?) synth part throughout . . . definitely more IDM / avante garde hip hop even?

and it is not too chaotic - ie. check CHICK's "extract from chaos" a few months back

Hi
As I've always suspected I don't know shit about genres. But then again I've never really tried to learn, I've never wanted to pidgeon hole my music, so I just do what sounds good to my ears and that's all.
To be honest I don't even know what IDM is?Glad you liked it though and that's what is most important to me.
The synthline was chopped up and various filters applied to different slices, so it does have a gated sound, but it wasn't a noise gate.
As for chaotic, that was my state of mind when I posted it, I'd had no real sleep for at least three days, my mind was totally out of control.

it sounds sort of cichili suite....!

no, really, that phasey mushy snare and the combination of that airy, ahhhh type angelic sound and the gated synth part, and bpm changes leave me a little sick feeling.

i think something that stands (no effects, just eq, maybe some compression) out and is planted in one place throughout the track would make me feel a little less cichili...hehe.

every thing seems to be whilrling about the stereo field, or because of filtering/flanging/phasing/chorusing. i get the feeling like i'm going around some big happy carousel (i get motion sickness very easily) ride, which is speeding up and down. and actually on second thought your track conjures up a very good image of this in my mind when applying the "minds eye" to it.

overall it has a strange feel to me, are you saying "my cocaine"?

best.

Thanks for taking the time to listen. I'm glad it invoked some sort of feeling or scenario to you. It could have been boring, sounded just like something else etc.
So I'm happy.

yeah my cocaine

Hi Zombie....This song of yours has potential! I have listen to a lot songs at this place.....i think that on this place are more technicians then musicians. Your song is made with love( nice string). Now just try to put more fill inns in your song, then it will be greater! ( but that's also a metter of taste) so keep up the good work! Hope to hear more from you! greetings from Paul ( friend of Hubird)

Hi Agent, again such a mysterious thing.
It should be worked out obviously, but that strange synth sound is again so fucking emotional, it's about love or moreover CARE, has to do with the tenderness of the sound.
Hm, you allways have a mysterious thing that get me.
Well, if I would ask for working out, you prob come up with a new pearl, so I don't ask for that anymore...

I asked paul what he meant with that.
He told me he sees musicions who are making music in the first place by really playing their instruments, he calls 'technicians'.
Sounds better eh?
So don't ask Sub to throw me out
