I have 2 computers one with OASYS and one with Pulsar and Scope cards. I want to run midi sequencer on one and ACID or Vegas on the other. is there a better way to sync than over MIDI? it seems there should be because the machines are connected together by ADAT Lightpipe both ways. but i have no idea how to do it.

I think (for now) only syncplate is 'perfect' sync... I've gone over that subject many times, that's the only thing that kept coming back. However, I think you need ASIO2 to be able to read that sync code. I also like uch better to use MTC to midi, cos it remembers song position. Midi Clock is just a metronome.
I hope Cubase will bring a solution with it's forthcoming upgrade. But then again, that will not be for 3rd party progs...

I think you need something like MTC.
Perhaps a MOTU miditimepiece AV is what your looking for?

I believe this is what you need.
They are not cheap though.

I once experimented w SMPTE, send that via AUDIO channel (don't monitor it, it's no audio!!!) but can't totally remember the score. Anyone?
