It has hundreds of freeware synths, effects, and dolby 5.1 outputs and all you see anywhere. Buzz is a real gas-machine, because you can developate your modules without a 3500$ developement Kit. there are granular synths, like in the capybara

Héhé, Buzz seems to be ugly now, but is truly powerfull.
There r hundreds of devices, and it's an open architecture: everybody can create his device U can even cable virtual transistor in... a new version is a coming, and I think this guy should have our support! my first contact with v1 was: how it's not beautiful... but it is truly unlimited, and it is assembly coded... not C++ compiled... U see what I mean? have u heard about granular synthesis. b.e, there are several dolby 5:1 interfaces... totally free...

It's a sort of freeware scope dev software... You can parameter everything. You have to go to the different sites linked in order to load hundreds of synths, effects, modules, GUI, etc... Oskari needs help from us all! this is a really powerfull engine which could be really ameliorated in order to replace the habitual trilogy Cube-Ass/ur A Cake that Walks and Logic $... Héhé If creamware was cool, the sequencer and the sampler would be in the package, and we'll ALL developate our .dev and .mod . Frankly, I'd have hoped when I bought Pulsar in 1999 that creaware would have a more opened commercial politic... It was presented alike a whole in one package... I like this stuff, but the idea to ruin myself in permanent updates with virtual synths that are as expensiv as 2nd hand hardware synth... I will buy STS4000 when they'll sold it 20$ ! at 350$, I can have a real akai S3000 remember that a sharc DSP is sold 10$... I'm not saying Pulsar is bad stuff, but if creamware wass less mean, they would multiply their sales by ten and make us spent half the money we gave 'em... It's clear, they're not based in East of Germany

I've spend most of my money already on Cubase VST/32, lots of VSTi's, Reason, Pulsar II (with STS-4000, RM 242, VTube), and a couple of other software related products. And since the Pulsar is going to be VST integrated (XTC) I'm not switching to another setup soon.

I've tryed the BUZZ last night. I must say I'm impressed with performance, but I think it's too complicated. I meen, it look powerfull, it sound good, but the 'TRACKER' paradigm ? I HATE that, why he's not doing something more standard? Logic, Cubase and Cakewalk are maybe commercial and expensive, but the piano roll, the drum editor and all those nifty editors screen are a must now. I cannot see myself 'program' this tracker to do a tune. Cuz, let's face it, you have to program your music with such a tool, not compose.

I'll give one more try tonight, but i doubt i'll use this tracker for every day music composing. Not that i don't support the project, in fact it's about time somebody do something ! A big Bravo to the programmer of this software!

I know that it's not an easy thing, but the concept interests me a lot... eheh... I hope the new version will be easier because, instead of all, this as strong funtionnalities. There's a full manual et I think that there's nothing like that: VST implantation, Asio, Direct X, and proprietary effects and synths...
I'd like something smoothest too, eheh...

Hehe, you don't have to change your setup: u need only a few minutes to download that, then download the fx and generators package. You'll see it's not very beautiful, but it has strong qualities, like GRANULAR SYNTHESIS or cabling virtual transistors,...
You can create your synth without a 3000$ developement kit... Oskari Tamelin created it alone, with no $ in his wallet. I think we must support him in order to make this thing really pro!
this is assembly programmed, so the CPU works more than with any other app...
It's a linux philosophy : you can change for your GUI, then create everythin u want under... I've not fully tested it: there r 250 "effects" and 150 "generators": everybody can write his own FREELY... I think it's not really a professionnal thing, but it does thing that only the Top3 seq do... I'm on the list to beta test th v2 as soon as it is out:). The graphical interface will be changed (now, it's not really beautiful...) and new improvements 2 come...
HéH2 ! KEEP YOUR SETUP! It's a wonderful setup... But NOTHING IMPEACHES YOU to support things like that by helping a little in anyway you like If we all do that, I think we may perhaps not update to VST 6 or Logic 5 in a few month... Err, Cubase 5r4 beta is already on steinberg ftp... if this is not down, because it often doesn't work...
Eheh... As I know how to build REAL tube amps, I don't need to simulate em... a 12AX7 tube is sold under 10$ ... all you need is a good transformer, condensers and resistors
Man, I have seen plans for a Neumann V76 mic Preamp... this is my next one
And I think about doing my own fader box... there are DIY sites that have full plans: 40 buttons for 100$... Believe me , if youre able 2 use a pulsar, learning things like that is easy: you're cabling too, but with an soldering iron

Buzz is included on the latest Computer Music CD Rom. It seems interesting, but there's so much to learn about my current setup that I simply don't have the time to check it out.

I like the "build it yourself" spirit when it comes to building your own hardware gear. But I've got two left hands and solder makes my eyes hurt.

in and out modules... I've not tried it all... It's a little alike when you begin with pulsar... except that it's ugly looking... U can use VST an Dx plug Ins too
I think the Pulsar can drive any midi signal...
so you should test if it works under your seq... but you'll have to disable audio somewhere : buzz has its own asio driver... In fact, the best thing could be to drive it with any score editor, so you got a cubase or a logic that eats ten times less CPU time ... I don't think this id C++ compiled ...
eheh, I think you've noticed that this was a very interesting toy... I desesperately wait vor the new vesrsion... And I hope ther will be something done about the interface.
Err, did you noticed that there were neither seq (even if it's only a list) nor audio recorder in your pulsar package?
And no more devellopement kit... ehehe... Is it a kind of reaktor too??? To now, you have worked with the micro$oft$ of computed music : $teinbreg, Emagic and Cakewa£k, Creamware... You buy a thing, then another, then another : you're a consummer... Here's the linux of the sequencers : it does it all... for free! Man, my package has only freewares or sharewares... And I hope there will be LINUX drivers soon in order to throw away any Bill Gate$ product$ ou of my home: ZindöZ $UX... Look at Vectron : about
300$... with it, u can buy two second hand Prophet V (the real one), and it'll eat no dsp for the miniverb because the timework$ is too $... In fact, I will probably keep my pulsar in order to have a live instrument, but there are otherways to have a lot of power... There are double slot A mobos now... A FOUR Xeon mobo costs 1200$ with scsi 160 integrated controller... and a sharc dsp costs only 10$...
I'm not sure at all that I will go further with dsp solution: if this had been an open platform, like buzz is, this would have been cool. at 350 $, I'll not purchase a sts4000 : my Akai S2000 works well, thx... Sorry, if there are rich boys born with silver spoon in their mouth here, I'm not one of them. Music is my passion, but I don't intend to sacrifice to it the few things I have... In order to match to actual power, scope sp should br sold at pulsarII price with it's full plugIns pack... I don't think it's honnest to sell software at hardware's price...
