Hi ALL!

Please, help with midi-keys functionality on LunaII v.3.0.1. Question is: Which virtual modules have i to connect(and how) to each other to get a midi-keys working?

Thanks.

If using the Hardware Midi Port, use the "Luna Midi Source" module in your Luna Project.

If using the Software Midi Port (called Luna Midi in your sequencer), then use "Sequencer Midi Source" module in your Luna project.

Thanks.

Ok. So what's another virtual module(es), to which i have to connect module(es) you have enumerated? - - - My midi-keyboard has connected to the Luna's "Midi In" directly, but it seems that software sampler doesn't receive midi-signal.

If you want your sequencer to record it then magically you can route "Luna Midi Source" up to the "Sequencer Midi Destination" ...

But if i just want to play software sampler or software synth sounds ? Not to record to sequencer or any other use of it! No SEQUENCER!

No idea what you're talking about really - how do you play softsynths without a sequencer? VST wrapper maybe? Anyway the connection would still be the same, did you already try it?

About synth w/o sequencer.

I just mean live playing... just run soft sampler/synth, then select any
channel/instrument and play in a live mode, ...if no need to record notes/sequences
to sequencer. That's all...

Now, the situation i talking about is very simple...
I run soft sampler, load some sounds, play on it's(sampler) virtual keyboard and
everything is ok. It sounds.

Then i run soft sequencer, set up i/o ports, choose the midi-channel i need and play
on it's(now, sequencer) virtual keyboard and it's great too. It sounds! So, settings
are correct - sampler receives instructions from sequencer and sounds. But, when i
start to play on my hardware midi keyboard(connected to Luna "midi In" directly) it
not sounds. It seems that Luna doesn't receive the signal from keyboard(?). In the
sequencer midi-settings the "Luna midi In" port is present and selected.

So my question is: May be something in the project is incorrect...
YES, of course, I connected "Luna Midi Source" up to the "Sequencer Midi Destination"
in the project. But i didn't get any positive results. May be i must to connect "Luna
Midi Source" through the "Recording mixer" to the "Sequencer Midi Destination" or in
some other way ? What's the problem ?

Midi-keyboard is OK. Until the Luna is installed, keyboard was working through the midi-adaptor(5pin DIN -> Joystick/Game port) and was connected to Fiji sound card.

How i know, Luna has already midi adaptor on board and i have no need to use any
additional adaptor to connect my keyboard to Luna. I just connect midi_Out of keyboard
to midi_In of Luna using it's "5pinDIN -> 5pinMiniDIN" cable! Am i right ? I thought,
may be the problem is here. humm...

And else... my windows OS is like a garbage now, after Fiji sound card some driver
components may be still here. May be it's a problem or somesing like that. I will
reinstall the Windows(98SE) and will try again.

What I usually do, is to merge Soft- and Hardware Source. Send that to the devices, use midi filter if you're gonna stream lots of midi, like sysex.

Then, I connect the Hardware Source to Sequencer Dest, so I can also record the midi that I play into the card to my sequencer. In the sequencer, I turn Thru off. Or your Luna would get double msgs.

Now, at any time, I can choose to play the Pulsar/Luna device from my keyboard and from the sequencer.

I hope this clarifies 'normal' midi operation, compare to how your setup behaves...

Hi ALL.

Thanks a lot for help!!!

The problem has resolved. It's OK now!
The problem was the incorrect soldered cable.

I found the correct scheme at http://www.hardwarebook.net

Thanx...
