Hi all,
I'm a Cubase user, and I don't know why there are people saying that Logic Audio sounds better than Cubase??
Is there a difference between the Asio2 In and out or what? Is there anybody that could make clear this fact ?
Because if is there a reason to change in Logic audio (because of a better sound) .... then .... i will change immediatly!!
Then the question is: Is there a "sounding" difference between Logic and Cubase
Thanks in advance for the idea or answer (all is well accepted)
Excuse me for my bad english...
Regards

They are both very high quality soundwise.
The discussion is a religous matter.

Yep, you're right.
Both have excellent audio engines. It's mostly a mather of which one is most pleasing to your hear.

Thanks for the replyes,
I continue to work with Cubase, because I know better how does it work! I tried to install a demo version of Logic, but I can understand nothing in logic!!
I had crashes all the time... but I don't know what's the matter.
If I've understand right the sound is equal in both audio engine, the only matter is the "know-how" of the program.
Anyway, I would thank all folks here in PlanetZ.

As far as I've been able to tell from the numrous discussion on this topic, Logic and Cubase (from version 5 upwards, 3.7 had problems) basically sound the same. Of course the built-in eq's, effects and other dynamics will sound different so that's a matter of taste.
The new Cubase SX, coming in June (I hope) will feature a new audio engine based on Nuendo, so it'll probably be better still.

The audioengine in Cubase5, CubaseSX and Nuendo are EXACTLY the same.
At least that's what the Steinberg developers told me yesterday in Frankfurt

And it would be quite wierd if that minute difference between steinberg line of softs and logic could kill or make live your mix. So I think, work with anything you've got! Shew, big difference! If you know Cubase, then work with it unless you've got enough motivation to go through the process of learning a new software. Even if Logic was better than Cubase, you'd still have a couple of month of leraning time. In the end, it's a no win deal, the change causes your creativity to slow down. (atleast during the switching period) But sometimes a big change to refresh your mind is good.

Just like an occasional synth even if you're not dieing for it. Now that's what I'd like just right now! hehe.

Hmm, well than maybe it's just the audio editing/automation feautures that are based on Nuendo if the engine was already the same.
