Vectron and Prophet VS

Hi, recently I have been playing a lot with Vectron and I have created some very nice presets.
So great the old Creamware team created this exceptional synth based on the Sequential Hardware.

Vectron is one device worth trying in 96K.

I am not sure if I have enough dsp resources for this... I only have 14dsps PCI at the moment.
What is the reason that 96K is worth it for Vectron ??

Because it doesn't oversample internally, it's using wavetables. You would use a project where it's largely used alone, record it, and then do your other work at a normal samplerate within Scope.
Try it and see what you think of the device in that usage scenario. Just a suggestion.

The difference will at least be significant, or even dramatic...
It‘s largely a matter of taste, though.
Today there are so many high quality sound sources (or processors), that I rather fight for any „grainy“ stuff that‘s still around.

It's dramatic for Vectron, but also preset dependant as some things like LFO rates change.
As for high quality sources, I'm quite happy with the Korg Wavestate and Opsix fm synth emulations in the KORG Collection 4, they are equal to the hardware. I have all the stuff in that bundle. I'm also trying out the JD800 emulation in the Roland bundle, if they release the PCM cards and it includes the strings card (which is my fave) I will likely sell my hardware unit even though the sliders and keyboard are still fully functional.

Any chance of the presets, ARCADIOS? (Cheeky ask) Or are they for personal use? Some people like to create signature sounds for their own music, so I appreciate not everyone wants to give everything way (to misquote a song from Bowie's last album).
Hey valis, I have JD-800 and JD-990 (with Vintage Expansion) and also all the PCM cards - including the sought-after Strings card. With the prices as they are just for the string card alone, I'm tempted to sell my 800 and 990 as they don't see much use these days. It's a shame the Roland stuff is tied to their crappy Cloud subscription, as I'd like their JD and JP synths (I have a real JP-4, probably keep that though).

You can buy them outright without the subscription.

Where and how ?
Is all the PCM card content included now ?

On the app itself and on their site it’s $150 per model. No extra PCM card data yet, but I did email them and got a response from the lead of development that that was a possibility they were going to consider.

Is there a reason why I cannot upload on planetz .pre files?

Yeah, but you still have to log on every 30 days innit? Like a subscription. I don't do subscription models even if they're free (which is why I dropped BFD3 recently). I just want the VSTs with some sort of permanent licence file, like with any other company.

Think you have to zip 'em first.

I guess the downloader app for updates does log itself out after 30 days, but I hadn't noticed that impacting the plugins themselves running once authorized. I'll let you know if they bug me for login or not, but to date hasn't been a concern with either Korg or Roland that I've noticed.

Cool.
I own Korg Minilogue XD and wanted to add Wavestate or Opsix to it, but since they mentioned at Korg's forum and now you, that are equal to the hardware, i'll go for software version for sure

Yes, it’s my thought process, enough hardware to fill up the space that you have it in the studio so you have things to touch and then we’re at the point that Braincell predicted 23 years ago

where software is now competitive. Let us be glad that his prediction took so long for scope had a very long lifespan and is still useful to this day.
