Hello there,

I bought my first creamware system, a Luna 2, just the other day. I am more than impressed with the sounds that it is making, however I have come across a problem with my initial setup.

So far my experience with Luna has been limited to messing around with devices from Planet Z (just to get the feel of things) and I have noticed a problem with stuck midi notes. If I play a synth for a couple of minutes eventually I will get a stuck note. All synths seem to suffer from this problem.
I am using an external midi controller and turning it off/on makes no difference, or sometimes the stuck note will just change into random garbage.

The stuck note only stops when the device is deleted from my project environment. Occasionally they stop by themselves.

Ok, my setup:

Luna 2 using ver 2.5 software.
Duron 900 on a KT7A motherboard. (Via I know )
Evolution 49-key midi controller Mk-149

Any ideas?

All suggestions appreciated.

Yep, extra clock data gave me grief for the first couple of months with Pulsar. I was about to go nuts before I read about this cause....

External clock on my keyboard?

This thing is pretty simple, it literally has only 49 keys and a couple of sliders.

Is this something I can set within Luna?

If you use a sequencer like logic you have to make sure you release the note (which sends midi note off message) before switching midi channels or the synth wont get an off message and just hang ( just like a light switch you have to turn the thing off or it will stay on). If it is from a controller and you get a bunch of notes crap notes you can filter the notes with a midi filter, theres one in pulsar but Im not sure about Luna.... Also make sure you dont make a midi loop...
The Evolution 49-key midi controller Mk-149 has set "clock ext" off in the setting but i dont have one at home so i cant tell you how to do it.. manuals are good for that

my roland-a33 (master keyboard) by default seting send midi clock and then pulsar go crazy and can't recieve some note on and note off informations.
when i set to "external midi clock" than a33 don't send "midi garbage" to pulsar and then i can play without problem.

i am your angel today:

Make SURE your controller's power adapter is 12 VOLTS... NOT 9 Volts

I bet you have a 9 Volts... I remember getting one of those controllers 2 years ago... the guy at the store gave me a 9V and said "it'll work"... yah it "seemed" to work but for a year or so I thought my pulsar was nuts... it was the power supply!

Then i came here and some guy said "i know whats wrong... you have a 9V but you need a 12V".

before you change it look on the back of the controller... if it says "9 - 12V" do it!

hope this helps
I remember the stuck notes and all the rest...

Yes, i remember telling you that mano! And it's still valid, a recently solved one's problem the same way! Mine was solved that way too! I remember there was a HUGE amount of people complaining about stuck note on Pulsar, you see that there isn't a single one now! Well, except the new guy, obviously...

Thankyou everyone for your replies.

Havent tested it yet, however based on whats been written here I'm guessing its the power supply. As you said, its 9V. I didnt use one before I got a Luna since the keyboard plugged into the gameport of my SBlive, and that was a powered connection.

I'll try it with a 12V supply and report back.

Thanks again for helping the poor noob
