Can somebody with a good technical knowledge look at the following link to see if my pulsar project is wired correctly.
LINK---> http://homepage.ntlworld.com/vitale/

This is what i want to achieve.
1. Use as many audio tracks within Cubase as i can.

2. Record MIDI to pulsar devices and then be able to transfer/record the midi track to Audio wave file.

3. All through Adat lightpipe to and from the Yamaha 01v Desk. Keeping it all digital if i can.

4. As i have external synths etc connected to the 01v as well i want to record them in Cubase as audio once the midi is arranged.
i assume one would use the Direct Adat I/O under Pan/Routing ( 01v ).

Using my current project setup i can do most things but its all too confusing?? Is there a better or easier way.
If this makes sense and you can help, please do.

i don't have "good tehnical knowledge" but project looks good for me! depending what you want to do?!
btw: i can't see bootom of picture, even can't save jpg :???:
so, i can't see whole project, but i don't know why you conect main out from dyn mixer to asio?! if you want record pulsar's synths to separate chanels of cubase at ones than conect direct outs from dyn-mixer to asio and use multirecord function in cubase!
you can add "sequencer midi source 2" to project and conect to "pulsar 2 midi a dest" - than you be able to use another 16 midi chanels for external stufs!

Thanks sandrob for the tip, i've updated the site should be ok now i hope!

I'm more confused with the audio routing and Cubase rather than the MIDI side of the project, thanks for your input i've updated my project with the changes you said.

It would be nice to hear from other 01v owners with pulsar.

I'll test it soon.

i don't know how works this yamaha mixer - i have just adat interface.
but, if you don't use external efects for remix maybe you don't have to use "adat destination"!!?
try to do something like this.
you have everything separately conected to asio and master to monitors. i do conect to wave destination that i can record everything in wavelab!
you can change sources and number of outs depending what you want to do!
sandro
p.s. i don't know nothing about automatisation in pulsar - i use automatic mix in cubase!

Hey there Osc,
To start - Sandrob's connections look good for a starting point for what your trying to do. Question though - do you use pulsar to mix? if not, you could use just 2 channels of the asio source to save more inputs.
All of your 'sources' should be connected to a mixer too - the wav 1 & wav 2, adat, sp/dif, analog in, and whatever synths / samplers of choice.
Make sure that your destination asio is hooked up to the direct outs w/ as many channels as needed (sandrob's example).
Also follow his example for the midi too & if you would like to control more synths in pulsar just connect the pulsar source out to the in of whichever device.
After that, set up your sp/dif, analog destinations, or wav destination to the mix output (sandrob's example) and from there your pulsar setup should be good - you can make it a windows background project or save it as a default project.

Once thats completed, the 01V part to it comes easy. Hook up all of your synths / hardware inputs to the 01V & then make sure to swap the channels from the Adat option inputs to the regular channels for the 1st 8 inputs. From there, you can hook up anything in any input and route it to the adat out in the pan / routing menu (i think thats the one). You will need to hook up both adat cables to and from the 01V mostly for sync but you won't need an adat destination in the pulsar. Just keep everything in cubase and when its time to mix just use the 01V as the controller.
I hope this helps and makes sense as I'm pressed for time now.
Good Luck!
Ora

Sandrob:
In my situation it would be wise to use adat destination as i can then process the audio from Pulsar/Cubase Adat with the Yamaha's onboard Fx and EQ etc.. and record the signal back into the PC with Yamaha Fx's etc into a new wave file if you know what i mean.

You said " you have everything separately conected to asio and master to monitors ".

Is that a good or bad thing???

as i say, i don't use external efects for remix. only tla compresors for recording and i don't have to use adat destination and that's why i use simple rm242 mixer.
in your case i will think about propack which include much powerfull mixers with groups, buses and direct outs.
for sure some propack user have similar project and can help you
You said " you have everything separately conected to asio and master to monitors ". Is that a good or bad thing???
i mean: "i have everything... in my project" and it's good! so, if you want, you can record any source to cubase - or (without recording in cubase) just make mix in wavelab - click record in wavelab and start cubase.

Thanks

I have the midi function of pulsar working with cubase as a controller, but no sound is showing up on 01V's meter and it appear that 01V's effects are not working...I followed Oscillation's updated diagram on how to wire Pulsar and that has the midi working thanks Oscillation, but still no sound from 01v

Another thing-- search PlanetZ for "01v" (or "03D" as it is similiar) I have a few detailed posts in the archives about the setup I used on those mixers...

I hate to be redundant but in searching I still have not been able to get sound from pulsar adat to 01v. I am using the optional adat card and maybe it is something in the mixer that is wrong...any idea's
