Hi Sandrob,
The sample device are the number of devices In and Out that you can use simultaneous.
Ex: If you want to use 8 stereo channel (8 * 2 = 16 single channels) you must set up the sample device up to 8 and max channel 2.
And for the audio clicks depends on the chipset that you're using.
1. Download the latest bios
2. Download the latest patch for your chipset (if exist)
3. try to see or modify the IRQ for luna (maybe move the pci board to another slot)
4... bla bla bla...
If these doesn't help you, i would take another motherboard Ex: P4-TE or something with i850 chipset (if Pentium 4), and a KT266a or Amd 760 chipset (if AMD).
But i will wait just 1 or 2 month, because they are releasing new mobo and new processor.
I hope my infos are useless

Ops i forgott to say that if you use only 2 devices you could not use more than 2 masterverb...
and be sure you're using the new pulsar software 3.01 ... (it may improve performance, but i'm not sure)
....

sandrob, there are many dozen people running the same setup (933mhz CUSL2) as you getting 12 or more masterVerbs. If you can link to a thread that gives you complete system specs, I would be glad to solve your problem, include which slots you're using and what IRQs your Creamware cards are using (and any devices sharing thier IRQ).

Hey Sub,
I think if Sandrob wanted this solved he would have answered that thread...
instead he continues to complain about if this doesn't get fixed he will sell his cream gear...
so let him sell his gear

i sale #2pulsar board because i don't need 2 pulsars for my way of working and i will buy uad-1. i don't want sale pulsar2+ what i still have because i can't imagine better card for routhings, monitoring, real time procesing, i/o, playing akaies, some synths, i like how sounds masterverb... i heard that early(something) sounds great but i never try

i know that i have optimal hardware for pulsar and that's makes me crazy. i wait for new p4 configuration and then i will try with xp. in the mean time i will upload pictures of my windows setup - that's much easyer for me than with english.
thanks, sub!

Okay 2 questions for you sandrob, and then we're on our way to solve this
1. What PCI slot do you have Pulsar in? (With Slot 1, the first slot next to your AGP graphics port)
2. Can you provide a picture of "Start > Run > MSconfig > Startup tab" and maybe "System Resources" - "WinKey+Pause" when you first boot your machine?

when i had 2 cards i put in #1 and #5 slots and in bios i force no share irq with any other! (i had same problems)
now my board is in the #5 slot! (same problems)

What IDE driver are you using? (WinKey+Pause, Device Manager, properties on your IDE controller - list all details or provide a picture)
What version of Windows? (98SE requires some drivers, ME has built in i815 chipset drivers)
Did you install any i815 chipset drivers, or IDE drivers if so, what version?
Almost there.

On Win98SE, you must install i815 chipset and drivers! With WinME, this is included, no other drivers are necessary for great performance out of the box.
<a href=
http://support.intel.com/support/mother ... t.htm>Here is the order of driver install</a>.
To be honest - I'm surprised your machine is even working - even with no PCI cards installed!

I would change it to the "Let Windows ..."
http://klub.posluh.hr/sbacic/5.jpg
I would change the Read-ahead to all the way NONE (left).
http://klub.posluh.hr/sbacic/9.jpg
I would do:
a> "un-check Calculate perfect position Information"
b> Change output Preload to Middle of small and Big
c> Un-check power Management
Additional:
1> Check the system.ini file, I would have Vcache setting: Min=Max=64000 (+/- 10~20%)
2> I would put the audio data in seperated HARDDISK, but not same IDE cable with the CD/DVDROM.
3> ULLI setting is about 13ms@44.1khz
4> Cset.ini setting HW=512
5> Possibly try to remove other PCI card in the system! Is it OK?
6> Using the Reverbs without any audio tracks for isolating the problem! Is it OK?
7> Adjusting the PCI lattency timer in BIOS setting (64~128 is doable).
8> Disable all start apps and other apps as possible (START, run, msconfig, startup). Uncheck everything, except Initpulsar.
9> Adjusting Seq-MIDI-Audio's latency/cache setting.
10> Creating new simple pulsar project from scratch, adding one-by-one devices. To see what's caused a problem.
Hope this helps,
Long

This is normal. The Intel drivers have no checkbox.
Did you install Intel Application Accelerator? (actual version is 2.0) This program shows you the settings.
Happy pulsaring
