does anybody know how to use volkzsampler (in xtc) in a direct mode, similar to other xtc instruments? Writing drumloops with that much latency is testing my rhythm skills to a degree that perhaps i don't need, well at least all the time anyway

wolkszampler is not xtc instrument! working like any other vst instrument!

How much latency do you have ?
On a Mac you can easily get 3-4 ms and on Windovs XP the same.
So that should'nt be a problem.
