I'm curious about what is a better path to take with the P4 Chipset and RAMBUS structure.....

Should I use 4 128MB chips or 2 256MB chips on a P4 system? Which is faster?

Thanks for the headz up---atomic this is your line of expertise right...help me out.

BTW I'm using an abit TH7-RAID MOBO with the i850 chipset and a P4 1.5Ghz. I believe the RAM is the 400Mhz FSB stuff that I'm currently using. Really fast with 256MB currently but I'd like to upgrade very soon to the 512 and wonder which would be better the four separate chips or the two considering the way that the P4 pipes the memory some kind of way special and I'm not sure how. Enlighten me please.

You definitely want the 2x256, it will be slightly faster.

Also you will want to check out the ASUS P4B266 board with DDR, it has excellent PCI.

For i850 and RAMBUS the board to get is the ASUS P4TE (or Intel D850MVL)

I went right with subhuman's advice and got a P4TE. Haven't had any PCI problems so far and I'm very content with its performance. just to share my experience
