Those pianos sound really good. But I don't like sampled saxes. Or maybe you should have played with the modulation wheel more. Double the sax line up with a guitar and see how much more alive it will be. Also, being a bassplayer(and synth player of course), I like real basses more than samples. Unless you use those hard hitting techno basses.

The sampled sax is pretty crude to my hears... A way to improve it would be to have a low-pass filter controlled by the velocity of the notes and to play with the velocity values, so the softer notes sound darker than the louder ones. Another good thing to do is to play with the volume and have your volume controller modulating your low-pass, so that your crescendos and diminuendos sound more realistic... This is lots of work, but if you want to refine, these are good hints... Modulating the attacks is the other thing, but I think that better samples could help a lot too!

I’ve head this one so many times… I love it Paul! I just don’t care about the sax. In fact, I’m not listening at it as a sax, but just a leading sound to make the melody. A real sax there would be absolutely magnificent if it was a jazz player.
I love the harmony and the spirit of the song. Isn’t it a typical Canadian Jazz , in think so…
