i´m realy wondering about creamware. i installed the new 3.01v after a nice windows clean install and then i wanted to install the sts 4000 (which costed also some money!!! with the same features like the free volkszämpler). during install i had the error "runpep.exe not found" so i mailed to creamware to hear what´s up and how i could solve the prob. they sent me an .oxe file, which was supposed to solve. in the mean time i was working with the volkszämpler for at least getting my things done (customers don´t like to wait for install problems). after using their .oxe file (whitch didn´t help to install the sts 4000 at all) the volkszämpler forgott al his setteings in my logic songs. i had to setup all sounds and volume settings and midi channels again. so great, i thought f...b...shit is not working plus spoiling my old stuff. does anybody have an idea how to get my sts 4000 working again??????

a really pissed off pulsarian is beging for your help, guys. thanks in advance, felix

Try re-running the Pulsar 3.01 setup pack. At the start you are presented with an request to enter the keys for some optional plugins, Propack and STS4000 among them. Enter the key number for the STS - you can get this number from the Creamware site -
My Page/Activation keys.
Hope this helps.

thanks for the fast reply.

i tried that, but the installation asks me to choose another folder to install, since there is already an installation.

any other ideas?

Install over the top of your existing install.

Always on top of the previous version, yes.

Except when you want 2 Pulsar OS to choose from. Install the latest drivers in your device manager, olders OS will recognise those too.
Tip: point your OS2.x devices folder to the Pulsar2 devices folder in Pulsar OS3 folder

o.k. i spoke to creamwares hotline.

since i made an installation with the very first sts install disks, i had a sampler device under the folder "devices/". this one does´t work. after using creamwares .oxe file i had a new sts device under "devices/plugins" folder (which i first didn´t realize, only after the phone call i checked it. sorry, my fault). this one works for me, but:

when i now use the pulsar sampler, the normal audio in logic get´s crackles (all this under windows 98se). so i switched to win xp in acpi mode. here the crackles where gone, but the midi timing became like a piece of butter in the sun (absolutly not useable). what i´m now gonna try is win xp in standard mode (maybe this will help). did anybody notice diffrences between acpi and standard mode?

(this are all test setups until i find a reliable way of working. until then for working i use win98se and volkszämpler vsti instrument. this means at the moment pulsar is nothing more as an multiple audio i/o for me. not to use as a sampler!!!)

bye, felix
