ok,before i go phoning creamware i want a surefire test to see if my card is functioning properly.i'm going to give up on cubase for the time being,i just want to know if the card is capable of outputting sound.

so could someone please list the steps i need to take in order to hear a wave file bing played in windows meadia player or a cd being played?

just explain which modules i need to have loaded and what connected to what.i will very grateful for any help you can give me,thanks.

one more thing, every time i start pulsar it seems to be always 'busy' (that is the icon is spinning intermittedly) but when i change the settings to 'slave' it functions normally.can anyone tell me why this is?

yours,
fustrated newbie.

My tech explained to me that Pulsar does not have a CD plug(!).
Later on I found out that Winamp has a free plug-in that allows me to listen to my CDs through Pulsar: a freeware called CS-Reader.

Check it out.

thanks i'll check it out,but how would i set up the pulsar to hear a wave file in windows media player? all i want to do is just test to see if the card is actually working,so just to make sure i haven't set up the modules incorrectly how would i go about doing it?
i'm giving a simple example because i cannot set the card to output sound in programs such as wavelab,VAZ etc.. let alone cubase!

Windows Media Player comes from your "Wave Source" module. Plug this module into a mixer, any mixer, and the output of your mixer to analog destination (the RCA outputs on your Pulsar).
That's it.
P.S.: Is Acetate a good address? I could send you my default Pulsar project.

Hi, in windows madia player you should enable the "digital reading" and without connecting anything it should works. If you listen that the cd doesn't play as it should do try selecting the "error correction" or something litke this.
hope this works

i don't use WMP for playing audios because sounds sometimes jumping and even when i made play list, play every second song - one play other won't....
so i instal winamp and i don't have any problem!!
winamp for audio - recomended!
