mixer and karaoke questions

As I'm not a pro like some of you, I came accross these questions:
1) Some guides for mixing suggest to lower all faders synchronous, in case your headroom at the master is to little.
Is there a function to synchronous move a bunch of faders for a defined value ? (e.g. faders 1-5 lowered by 3dB )
2) My singer likes games like "singstar", where the upcoming text is shown in advance, but still synchronous with the song position.
Is there a VST / Midi-driven device to support that "karaoke" singers ?
