i have a pulsar 1 running v3.01 and i have been unable to persuade it to receive any signal from seq. out. It will record audio & midi into cubase but no midi back out. I am running cubase vst v.3.7r2 on pIII 800,256m, cusl2-c,scsi3 & windows 98se. I have had to accept this, it seems my midi out just can't be persuaded - i get the through from my controller keys, but no out. So! Anybody know about usb midi boxes (midisport etc.) and compatibility with above setup?
a very warm season's greetings to all,w

Inside your sequencer: Pulsar Midi 1 and Pulsar Midi 2 correspond with the module inside Pulsar called "Sequencer Source 1" and "Sequencer Source 2"
If you've got the hardware ports of Pulsar connected to a Midi Interface, then inside your sequencer you'd select for example, MidiSport Port1 (if you have Pulsar's hardware midi port connected to your midi interface's port 1), and then inside the Pulsar environment you use the module "Pulsar Midi Source"
Hope that helps, it does work fine once you wire it properly.

thanx sub, I have things wired this way, but still nothing ever gets out of cubase to my old D4! Could be a Steinberg thing - would scrubbing the reg of all things cubase then reinstalling be a way to find out? I tried this a year ago without cleaning reg to no avail.

You might be okay using a MidiMan USB interface on the CUSL2-C, but if you try this, get the interface from a place that will accept a return, just in case it causes any issues with your PCI performance.
So am I understanding correctly that:
1. Pulsar1 is your only midi port on your machine.
2. Inside the Pulsar routing window you have "Seq Source" wired to your synths/effects/mixers but then also wired to "Pulsar Midi Destination"
3. You get midi from Seq Source working fine to control devices within the Pulsar environment. But...
4. No midi output from Pulsar?

yes, this is correct. Strange, and a little frustrating. I'll give the usb a go. Thanks again for your time.
