Why don't we all (who agree with the idea), ask to John Cooper to create a database on this site , where everybody could add his compatible hardware or software
in this compatibility pool.
In this way we can save ourselves a lot of time and money.

That's a great idea, and until or if such a thing ever happens (John's a busy guy), you can check out:

(And if John sees this, Anandtech has a system like this, many of the posters have "System Rigs" linked in their signatures to their database entries, might be a good system to check out.)
