Thought the mic was the Shure KSM8 but it’s actually the TC Helicon VoiceRack mic with a Switch for easy automation.

WaveState hack fits perfectly in my H&K MP5 Assault Gun soft case.
Not that I own a weapon like that.

But my Synths dimensions googled me this case.

Google actually works when they’re not censoring free speech....ankyu.

That will give the audience a bit of a scare as you walk on stage with the case, unzip it, then pull out the wavestate and assault them with riffs and arps.

For a long time I had a crew, even in the off season we had an opening act at local clubs, total KSHE 95 Radio support and full crew. Never worried about gear but loved my job and was always there when the trucks pulled in.
These days I’m paranoid about thieves after Las Vegas musicians got ripped off by crews of thugs catching them during load ins and load outs.
My only protection is looking deadly as I can and having GPS devices on all of my gear.
Why take a chance.

If someone thinks you’re armed they usually are going to go after soft targets.

Anyway the way the sequencers work in the wavestate. Though I also prefer flexible units with a variety of options, sending data wouldn't help as much as so much of the sound isn't just automating 1 patch but the lane that controls the 'sample' sequences.

Besides, Arturia has the inexpensive sequencing thing down much better now.

Coming out of left field here, do you still have the keys from the wavestate by any chance?

I recently picked one up second hand but two of the keys are misbehaving. I have ruled out simple things like checking pads and traces but still have the issue with only two keys. I am going to try replacing the two ICs since they are cheap and simple 3:8 decoder/demuxer but my hail mary might be if you still have the keys and could be convinced to part with them.

I would contact Korg support, it's an ARM chip in there and since it does USB firmware update there might be a way to put it in bootloader mode before it boots, or use a jtag cable etc.

Also, with the v2.0 OS for Wavestate and the software frontends that are now available, I would have to say I'm quite pleased with this little synth indeed. My only real complaint is that due to its pricepoint the build quality is a bit so-so, the front panel being mounted to the plastic faceplate could have used more reinforcement (or ideally the pots would have been secured to a baseplate underneath the front panel, not mounted to it). That's a small thing, and with care shouldn't be a big issue.

Anxious to see what others can do.

But for me this synth is all about making your own layers and blending them with better samples and hardware.

My first test was to take the Piano Presets they have which are very good but the Pianos are weak.

Dump those and use Ice Cavern sounds with Keyscape or PianoTeq.

These Korg patches usually have 2 or 3 waves going with their sampled piano.

Replace the ones that you don’t care for and have your own signature patch.

I have beautiful tinkly shit going on when I hold notes for the value of half notes (2 beats).

But after 4 beats have lush pads or strings kick in.

I’ll share some stuff in a few days, but Piano stuff for now.

Then layer the synth waves with a powerful Omnisphere or Solaris sound.

What a great synth for sound sculpting though.

Take off it’s effects and use Scopes and you get higher polyphony it seems, or at least note stealing stops.

Looks amazing! How were you removing the existing presets? I'd absolutely love to remove the factory presets that are just full tracks, it's a waste of my time when browsing
