what is the simples way to play VSTs into scope ?
I want to use same VST synths to get midi out of scope and play with asio into scope.
Today I use samplitude, which is too complex for this simple job.
is there a simple & small tool to run a VST ?

I would use Bidule. It might *seem* complex, but the routing isn't all that dissimilar to Scope--with the caveats that you need to understand how the 'sync' option at the top of devices, and it has slightly different 'rules' to how you can share audio & midi data streams (wires) than Scope of course.
I might just be partial to Bidule, but it's as complex as you want to get and as simple as you need, all at the same time. Host a few VST's with an eq, comp, limiter and 1 midi input? Sure! Build complex FFT based spectral analysis chains to trigger exotic plugins in your own custom audio chain? Can do. Anything in between too, and there's little need to really understand the complexities once you have gotten your head around that "sync" dropdown and know what to use to get midi clock to devices (MIdi Clock to Sync attached to a midi input, basically). Having no central clock is more amazing than you think btw, as you can use 1 clock and derive many timings from it, all lining up at the right multiple. Etc..etc.

This is my favorit : http://www.mutools.com/mux-product.html
A vst modular synth/sampler in which you can launch other vst's and control their parameters with all modulation modules you want. You've got also Mulab which is a daw and Mux modular is part of it. http://www.mutools.com/mulab-product.html
You can use the vst plugin Mux modular also to output midi. You can catch any modulation signal and convert it into midi data or convert it into audio signal and output it to another asio output, like Silent Way does but with much more tweak possibilities.
Bidule does that too. It's not that complicated to handle, especially if you already use to work with Scope.
I don't know at all how to set up Samplitude to be able to take the Mux modular midi output and route it to other vst or Scope but it must be possible.
Since 3 or 4 years, the mux modular became essential to me ; allowing me to add envelope or LFO to modulate VST's parameters that didn't have the feature.
I like to use Reaktor as well, for generating specific modulation signals and the brilliant thing is that you can launch Reaktor into Mux modular.
Don't know if it helps...

What is vouche ? When I google "vouche vst", I only get voucher links !
Re: what is the simples way to play VSTs into scope ?
JoPo, "vouche for" means when someone recommends something and gives their first hand support for it. So faxinadu is just saying he recommends Bidule and has used it and it works well, so he vouches for it. It's kind of English slang. .
Re: what is the simples way to play VSTs into scope ?
!! Thanks you, Tangent for your enlightenment !! I didn't know that english expression at all. So I vouche for Mux modular !

Vouch (without the "e")
Sounds French to me

Re: what is the simples way to play VSTs into scope ?
Yayajohn, yes sorry for my incorrect spelling there. And you are right it probably comes from the French language, a result of the Norman conquest.
Re: what is the simples way to play VSTs into scope ?
Since I'm french and thus speak french, i can tell you that there is no such a word nor expression vouche or even less vouch. There is bouche which is mouth or vache which is cow.
I thus can confirm the norman invasion but we are keeping them in the Normandie area in order to let them believe they are at home. It's a tactical diversion.
But I'm affraid we are hijacking this thread...

Re: what is the simples way to play VSTs into scope ?
another alternative is (the free) VCV Rack with the (commercial) Host modules ($20). Unfortunatly i cannot get it working with Scope ASIO drivers on Win 10 64 bit and scope 5.1, and i guess it doesnt work with Scope 7 ASIO either.
In VCV you can add Audio cards IO as you like (multiple cards in a project), route freely between them etc. The Host modules can host VST's, they can ofcourse then be modulated from whatever you want.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

my favourite VST Host - it's not that far from Scope routing (can do serial and parallel)t_tangent wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 2:32 pm Another option might be

Re: what is the simples way to play VSTs into scope ?
It’s the very simplest and hooks up Modules just like Scope.
So within 10 seconds you’ll hear quality audio.
Just create a project with everything loaded that you want, and have fun.
It’s a recorder too, even 32bit Integer.
MIDI File Players, Reverse audio splices, clip launching, etc.
If you need help ask here, I’ve been using this live for 13 years now and refuse to use anything else.
They say I should upgrades to this or that because it does more of this or that.
Fuck that.
I need to play not tweak and twerk to be current.
No sense fixing something that already works flawlessly.
