in the last time i change cubase and pulsar software versions and add second pulsar board and now i have some cliks in sound.
i can't found source of problem.
now i found that:
1. first pulsar share IRQ with ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering (2 times)
2. second pulsar share IRQ with ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering and SCI IRQ used by ACPI bus"
??????????????????????????????
thanks

so what? it´s seemingly an irq-problem. try to change the cards in the slots, and have a look... (a hear

)
if it has nothing to do with interrupts, come back

What version of Windows are you using?

win98se!
i put first pulsar in the #1 slot and second in the #5. is it good or bad?!
now they share #5 irq with isdn card.
as you see, i have same question on the creamware forum, but i still don't know is it good when 2 pulsar share same irq??!
what now i must do for optimal work, to avoid clicking sound!??!
thanks
p.s. when i was useing 1 pulsar board i don't have any problem even on 7ms latency - now i can't work with 25!?

When you had 1 Pulsar card, you probably had the IRQs working.
You'll want to obviously get the ISDN away from sharing an IRQ with your Creamware cards (number 8 of the <a href=
http://www.infinitevortex.com/default.a ... x>guide</a>). You can set the IRQ for Slot1+5 explicitly in the CUSL2 bios.
What slot is your ISDN card in?
Anyway, 7ms is easy with 2 cards too. You'll want to reinstall V3.01 update after moving the cards around or adding or removing a board from the DSP system.

wherever i put isdn card they share #5 irq with pulsars!
isdn is in the #2 port and now i change irq in bios and now pulsars share #5 irq (without isdn)!
is it good now, or i must set that every pulsar have own irq?!?!
you for sure know which combination is the best?! which combination i must do with:
2 pulsars, isdn card (and graphic card)?!
i use paralel port for printer - others ports i have disabled!

oooooo, i read guide no. 8!! if is recomended that pulsars share same irq, then looks that i solve this!??!

What motherboard have you got? look in the manual and see if you can find 2 slots that share an IRQ, put the 2 creamware cards in those (slots 1 and 5 eg ASUS CUSL2) and then "force" them to use a free one in the BIOS (i use IRQ5 but some people say higher is better)
then windows will not do any of the pci sharing tricks. windows will not be able to change or share that irq.

yes, i already do this! same mobo and same #5 irq for pulsar boards.
thanks to all!!

Yes, you want your Pulsar cards to share an IRQ, but NOT with anything else. Slot 1+5 share, put your Creamware cards there, then make sure that nothing else is sharing with them, especially network/modem/usb devices.

yes, i do exactly this and i do every little optimatisation what i found in manual and on your home page but my sound still clicking when is cubase on the screen everything works smoothly even my cpu goes to 80%, but when i go to pulsar software picture on screen is slow and lazy and then start this stupid clicking!!! then i go to cubase and everything sounds fine!!
it's looks like graphic card problem!? i use hercules prophet mxII.....

Since I don't know anything about your computer (slots, cards (agp graphics or PCI?), mobo, processor, ram, etc), I can't really tell you... what do you have your ULLI setting at now?

mobo cusl2, cpu p3-933, hercules agp card, dimm 512 ram, hdd 30gb ibm dtla 7200(2pcs), cd rom 50k asus, plextor plexwriter, asus isdn card... latency 13ms.

excuse me for more guessing, but if you suspect the graphics card why not check for a driver update?helped me once.

i do update jesterday. can't help!
i found one more thing. if my cpu goes about 60% then i can't use more then 2 reverbs in pulsar - then stars clickin and cracking.

try disable Busmastering for graphics and ISDN. Did you also check for BIOS/firmware updates for the Hercules & Asus?
For ISDN I usually recommend AVM, for graphics Matrox or Elsa. Their firmware and drivers are usually free of problems, exept for the latest gamer-card.
Good luck.
Happy pulsaring

why do the creamware cards allow no IRQ sharing? My uads share with other deviced too, never had a problem - more importantly - can they change this with a firmware upgrade of the cards or is it impossible?

the IRQ problem doesn't
exist on a mac, not on OS9 and not on OSX.
not of much help, but worth mentioning, concidering the age of this thread
