Hi !

From time to time, I need to convert sample library files. I use the old CDxtract but it's a 15 years old soft and doesn't support many new formats.
Do you know a good new one ?

Chicken systems translator seems to convert kontakt into UVI !! This would be awesome ! But I read everywhere that between what they say and what it can really do, one could put the pacific ocean.

Who could advice me ? Thanks !

Chick Sys sucks.
The support is even worse.
The guy hung up on me years ago when I said Giga to Pulsar didn't work.
It couldn't even do GSIF to Kontakt and they were both wav. files.

I was conned into upgrading to pro thinking it would work.
NOT...
So I got jacked off twice with this guy.

Thanks a lot.. You're confirming what I saw everywhere. And apparently, it's the same with all of their products !

150€ saved...

But there is no other working stuff ? Awave studio seems to do a lot of things too but doesn't support UVI.

Thanks, Bud ! I'm affraid it's as old as Cdxtract and doesn't been updated since years.

I believe kontakt libraries files format stoped this kind of software to do its job : there is no any app that is able to convert .nkx files into any other. Or if someone knows one, please tell me !

NI isn´t interested in any apps converting their libraries into other sample-player´s format.
They´ll always try to get in the way, you know.

I even believe they made .nkx files to prevent anyone to use their files in any other app than kontakt !

But I really thing kontakt start to be old, now : a lot of things are still impossible to do with it, such as global modulation (I mean modulating all instrument groups with only one LFO, for instance). A kontakt 6 would be good. Falcon has much more possibilities than kontakt but it's a pain to buy sample libraries for Falcon I already have for kontakt !
I was to that bad to be able to convert sampler format before ! Now, one need something like : http://www.soundlib.com/samplit/ and wait a week for the computer to obtain the result + one month to edit the instrument !
