Project corruption?

I did a search on the forums, but nothing really came up.

Does anyone experience this?

I have a small project with several routings, no synths. Just my 3 keyboards, some MIDI, record player, and possibly the preamp output. Everything used to work fine. Now, when I load the same project, Sonar cannot open the output device. It says it's already in use or something like that. I removed the ASIO source then added again and no luck. Creating new project works. This project is only maybe 2 weeks old and has only been loaded about 10 times. Do I need to rebuild the cabling? I don't want to be doing this every 2 weeks :o

Thanks,

-Tom

I experienced similiar 'events' rarely, but only from more complex projects that were used intensly
(with no specific pattern)
just keep one additional backup
in case it happens again make a new copy and replace the damaged project
(my personal suspect is today's large CPU caches, but that's just a guess)

cheers, Tom

Ahhh!

That's a great idea! How come I didn't think of that?

Long day...

Thanks!

yeah, i had a project get corrupted today. it's the first time in over a year, but i hated it. i was able to work around the problem, so it wasn't a big deal, but it can happen. be careful of the order that you do things and don't try to do two things at the same time. usually when a project becomes corrupted, windows is carrying out another big task while the project is being saved.

Yeah, Windows was always a mess. So is any other OS, really. Let's blame the glitch on M$.

It's not a big deal if I can just make backups. It's not a big project and I can open it and hookup all my devices :D

Yeah,

Back in high school (20 years ago?), the computer teacher always used to say:

Number one rule of computers: "Save Save Save!"

I guess it's still applicable

obviously the same applied to the creamware dudes (almost) 20 years ago...
in Scope settings you can enter the number of backup copies the system shall provide on it's own ;)

I always set the backup copies to 10. That way, even if I clic often on 'save' (pity there is no keyboard short cut or automatic save evey x mn) I alway can find the latest working project.

I use SCOPE 5.1 and XITE-1 for over 3 years now and had it only one time.

I have at least 3 backups from every project and got it fixed loading a backup and deleting the original.

I guess it can happen when saving, but it´s extremely rare.

Cool cool.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that had this happen to me. Luckily this is a small project. I shall rebuild it later.

Thanks,

-Tom
