Hi guys I'm having the Sam problem as this poster:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/i ... -p193.html

The newer ones come with SSD support but I have the older mounts. Does anyone know where I can get the correct adapter?

Thanks

Just get the cheapest one you can find that has the right holes for your case and SSD. For instance, this one only has holes on the bottom, which is fine if you have the matching holes on your SSD: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HFSMHDI

I bought a fancier Akasa one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0055S0HY6) and the holes don't line up with any of my PC cases and only some of the SSDs that I've tried :)

P.S. Easiest way is to buy the retail SSD kits, as they tend to include adapters.

the ssd are very light in weight products and not tend to heat, so I often use double-sided sticky tape to place them everywhere I want.

I have the adapter but it doesn't fit.

what doesn't fit?
the adapter should be 2 1/2 inches wide, the size of a standard hard drive. the SSD has standard mounting holes and it's 2 1/2 inches wide... if the adapter's mounting holes don't line up, a drill will fix that very quickly. the suggestion of double sided tape would also work...

I will try the sticky tape. Have some velcro too.

If you look at the link Gary the pictures show the adapter doesn't fit.

Thanks

oh, i see. are you trying to mount into a HD cage or a cd rom slot?

as a poster in that thread mentioned, you can buy a long adapter like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 2970S72614 , you can drill a new mounting hole in the HD cage, or you can get a 5 1/4" to a standard 3 1/2" adapter and mount your plate to the bigger plate and then mount to a cd rom slot.
