Lots of IOs needed. Please advise.

Hi.

I love my scope. This system gives me a routing options no other ever can. I'm very afraid what future will bring with dying old cards and PCI slots... Inside scope I have built speaker management system (stereo, 5.1, full range, with sub), advanced studio ISDN/skype/source connect routing, 0 latency reverb and compression after the recording signal chain.... With one word amazing!!!!

My system is Windows 8 64bit. I do get blue screen from time to time, playing with scope, but that's a small price to pay for all of that functionality.

Anyway now I have 2 Lunas with Z-link.

In total I have:
4 x Z-Link
4 x ADAT
4 x Analog
2 x MIDI IO

I'm on the edge with DSP power. I only have 6 DSPs. I would, if possible, like to use only one card (15DSP) and have as much IO's possible.

Can you please advice which card and extensions to choose. I find very little info on internet regarding old products.

Thank you
Br,
kd

You can not use I/O extensions with other cards than the Luna.

Not that one, but if I recall correctly there are other Z-Link expansion cards to be used with 15DSP cards.

Do you have 2 Luna's and 4 x adat?

One Luna should have 1 zlink (8 in/out), 1 stereo in, 1 stereo out, 1 midi in, 1 midi out.

I don't get all the I/O you described, anyway, a pulsar 2 can add 16 channels of I/O over adat, 2 channels of I/O over aes/ebu(plus version) or s/pdif(classic version), 2 channels of I/O(analog), midi in/out/thru and 6 dsp, also a power pulsar is equipped with same I/O configuration or you have to find some board equipped with different I/O plate, such as 3 adat's I/O.

Maybe time to switch to a XITE-1 or XITE 1-D, also at the moment 32 bit OS is suggested to work with scope and have full functionality and you can use up to 64 Gigabytes of ram on 32 bit windows 7 and PAE enabled and have good system stability using scope.

I guess no other than Xcite will be an option for the future.

I have Windows 8 64 bit. Currently 2 x Lune with Z-link expansion works OK. I believe Xcite should too. Am I correct?

it works ok on 64 bits if you don't need sts samplers and vdat, this unless a scope update will be released.

You must know that Luna Z-link and Xite Z-link are not the same. In other words, you can't connect your Luna i/o to Xite Z-link.

But you can keep them and connect Xite & Luna via adat.

I use Z-links to connect my A16s. What do you mean by not the same? Will xcite connect to my A16 using its zlink?

Hum.. I'm not sure for A16. I guess it works.

I understood you want to connect Luna boxes directly to Xite which is not possible.

xite should work with a16, it doesn't work with lunabox
