Check out http://www.studiobuddy.com

There is a free program called Studio Buddy which is kinda nice. It provides many recording tips. It's easy to install. A nice little tool, especially for the home recordist/hobbyist.

No info about it?

Maybe you could give a quick explanation about it?

Like kensuguro mentions, it's basically a small database program - dolled up a bit - which provides tips for all kinds of recording situations like:

how to record guitars
how to record vocals
how to record bass
how to record trumpet, sax, flute, etc.

etc, etc.

But it provides a lot more information than just simple basics, and not all "how to". Check it out. It's free. And it installs/deinstalls very cleanly. I think it's mostly aimed at the neophyte - home studio type person.

Even a pro might forget or not see, but these advises are good.
There's a detailled explanation, also on EQ'ing, compression and mastering.
And yes, it's both for mac and pc!

For what it's worth: this information came to me through a studio client who subscribes to the Taxi service. If you are a member of Taxi, you get a free subscription to Recording magazine. Lot's of recording tips in that mag.

I don't know too much about Taxi but it appears to be a really nice service for getting your music out into the hands of industry movers & shakers that can help.
