Hi there,

I just get my xite activated again and After finding something workarrounds it is just Doing everything perfectly for my needs- exept of One Thing:

I like to use a 24ch vdat in the Project- while it Works well (After discovering the right Dsp asingnements) i am unable to Save the Project When any Other i/o than the First 8 ch of the vdat are connected to anything. I can Save with ch9-24 unconnected but When loading the Project again i find a 8 ch vdat... It still days 3 instances in the Settings Windows but i have to Remote and load New vdat , Chance Settings to 3 Inst. Etc. To get 24i/o again.

Also i noticed that in the Project Window it Never Show more than 8 i/o - Even When i have 24ch loaded and actually Recording/ playing Tracks. This is while there is a 24 ch. Vdat RUNNiNG (!!) in the Same Time and having 24io shown and connected in the Routing Window!

When i try to Save i got Message :

"Modul Cannot be Saved because you made something illegal operations in the referenced modules. Please Save your device or reverence Module First and try again."

As there are no presets for vdat i have nö idea how to solve... Searching the Forum i found
This Problem mentioned- but nothing about if it ever got solved- i Belive some arround here are Using vdats with larger tracknumbers... So what i am Doing wrong?

Drives me Crazy- so i would be thankful for any help!

are you using the 64 bits version?

if yes, try this one i attached.

Explanation:

the 64 bits version is packed as .dev and it searches for referenced module that doesn't exists, this is usually a problem that happens when a .dev device is embedded into another device, while as .mdl it can be saved.

Zimbo,
You are so right,
I found the same thing.
The only work around I found was to unconnect the last 16 outputs from the VDAT (you can save with the first 8 outs connected ok) and then save.
This means you need to reconnect next time you open the project.
A small annoyance I grant you.

What a Great Forum- First answer solved it ! 100 Points for dj superhero :D Thanks a Lot!
I was thinking it has to be something about Directory/ filemanagement..

Mausmuso- try the MdL - issue is gone!

Thanks again!

Ups.... Sees a Ravel a Bit to early- it can be Saved now but it Dorset actually Record anything anymore... It all Looks functional- but When i want to Play back what i just Recorded there is nothing on the Tracks. This Happens Directory After Recording, Not only When opening After saving... Tried create New Tape, Open Existing Tape... All the Same..

Yes I also can save 24channels, but playback it a bit hit and miss.
Some tapes don't playback at all.
Others don't playback the first 8 tracks, but 9 onwards playback OK.
BTW I am using 24Bit recordings.

Maus

tried some tests on 64 bits scope, i encountered same issues, also i got bluescreens sometimes when switching sample bit depth.
I have to investigate deeper to see if something can be fixed or if it is all related to 64 bits bugs which can only be solved by the developers of the scope software.

Only 16 bit is ok...//// edited. I was wrong. I can record (32bit win 7) at any bit rate. Just have to set the bit rate to 16bit then to 32bit and works fine.
