Xbox One As a DAW?

The Xbox One is a very powerful computer at a cheap price. I wonder if anyone will be hacking this to make it a DAW. It has Windows 8 on it.

Mmmm, don’t know. Why going through the hassle of adapting something that has been made for something else? I would do it, perhaps, if I were given it as a gift, otherwise, you can build a pretty decent PC for cheap today.

well, arguably GameBoy can be turned into a pretty nice tracker with LSDJ.. or the NES turned into a MIDI instrument with MIDINes.

Now, turning old Xbox 360 into VST boxes (like Receptor) might be interesting. Repurposing something new might be a luxury, but adding value to otherwise obsolete tech is like making diamonds out of poop!

Try running other Win8 programs on it and see how well it works  .

It's a seriously dumbed down box.

PS2 had several tracker style applications which could 'sample' right from CDs inserted, one or two of which seemed to factor heavily in grime & early dubstep...
