every system will run into that eventually. all systems have limits. the question is "are you getting normal performance?".

the size of the card does NOT effect pci overload. if your 15dsp card was an older first generation card, then THAT would have been something that would effect it. later cards, Pulsar2, Luna2, ScopeSP, Power Pulsar, Scope home, Scope Project, Scope Professional, Power Sampler, Electra, cards handle PCI traffic much more efficiently than the earlier ones.

how many masterverbs can you load into an empty project before you get the message?
this test works because reverbs require thoughs of delay lines which travel back and forth between system memory & cpu to the dsps on the card via the PCI bus. this is the best indicator of the realtime performance of your system.

please attach a screenshot(picture) of your routing window. if the problem is in XTC mode, exactly what plugins are loaded and please attach a screenshot of your XTCproject.pro.

this is all the setup you should need to do:

i find if the 5.1 is assigned to the second generation card and the 15 dsp is used as booster

i have 2 systems

1 has 2 15dsp and 1 pulsa2 pulsa 2 is the 5.1

my other system is a 15dsp and 2 pulsa 2 which i just upgraded to 5.1

i never ever ran out of pci connections on either machine on either the old p4 or the new xw6000

but have ran out of audio connections but that was due to using lots of sample osc for multi samples but dont suffer from that any longer since sharcs multisample osc modules

it could be a problem with the mother board or win7 32 as i only use xp

7 masterverbs with a first generation card is very repectable performance.

a first gen card will never perform much better.
