The oldest organ in Britain

I've been invited to play a local church organ. It happens to be the oldest organ in Britain, it has plenty of action left in it and sounds amazing, a real room filler.

I would definately love to hear what you do with it.
Also, be careful with it's bench. It might be a new one that came from a tax free zone in China where disposability is the economic model.

I've been wondering how best to recording it. It takes two, one to pump the bellows and one to play and up close all the workings add so much to what you hear. The sound of the wooden pipes is so different but how to capture what you hear when you play it and what you hear when you are listening to it standing in the church. The church is so resonant, no wall hangings or floor covering. I'm thinking of using movable office partitions to try and create an improvised small room around the organ to try and dampen as much of the reverberation as possible to enable as much of the organ sound to be recorded and then try for capturing the church acoustics. I have some reservations whether I'll capture much of the real sound that my ears hear as its such a lively recording environment.
Any tips on how best to record this organ will be a great help.

It sounds so good and its action is still lively, I can't help but wonder how much better it would have sounded installed in the location it was constructed for.

And fear not the seat as The Lord looks after the seated in finest solid oak inlaid with ash and carved exquisitely for the cushioning of the rear.
Praise be
