Hey guys, this is kind of a random question. I seem to recall other companies making dynamics VST plugins in the style of SPL's transient designer.. but couldn't recall the name. I remember seeing a couple of them.. can anyone remember?

ooops, found a whole thread on it on kvr.

It never really hit me to go too far into SPL transient designer when I had it on scope.. I was like.. huh, snappy drums.. cool. (end of story)
just occurred to me maybe I should give it a more serious exploration.

Great for tight Bass too.
I like BX Digital for adding focus using Mono Maker, then the SPL TD for final surgery.

The thing about TD is it operates on any transient independant of overall signal volume. So its different to a compressor and can have many applications on any instrument that has noticable transients.

So yeah, bass, drums even vocals. Trumpets are interesting too.

Havent tried TRANSart yet, but will do.

they do it in vsti and mac versions

i have it on the scope and on vsti

and i have a hard ware unit with it

they all sound the same not much difference in any of them

its also included a version of it in recycle 2

it sounds to me an envelope follower controlling compressor expander limiter

mccy i have not tried your version yet

but when i do will give feedback

Honest round-up of VST freebies:
http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2012/01 ... u-plugins/

Also, DAS has a free Scope device. Check the TR1D link at the bottom of:
http://www.digitalaudiosoft.com/products.html

These are great on a bass guitar track when you get a bit sloppy with your pick attack due to over-enthusiasm!
And put one before a slamming 1176 clone for an even bigger sound.

Yep, since Dirk moved off Scope and started on plugin-alliance.com, they've started to get clever with the marketing. But there are many cheap VST's from smalltime dev's that cover much the same ground, and are far more honest and personable than plugin-alliance will ever be. E.g. toneboosters, g-sonique, plantinumears's IQ4, cloneensemble, tokyodawn labs, klanghelm, terrywest...

Cheers, Eanna
